Lexus has launched the new ES 350h in India, with prices starting at Rs 66.10 lakh ex-showroom. The eighth-generation luxury sedan is now being made locally and is available in Exquisite and Luxury variants. Prices go up to Rs 71.80 lakh ex-showroom for the top-spec version. The ES 350h uses a self-charging hybrid setup that combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor.

Lexus has also added more features and safety equipment while continuing to focus on the sedan’s comfort, quiet cabin and spacious interior.
Lexus ES 350h: Design and Dimensions
The new ES 350h measures 5,145mm in length, 1,920mm in width and 1,575mm in height. It has a 2,950mm wheelbase and comes with 235/55 R19 tyres.
Compared with the previous model, the new sedan has a longer wheelbase and a wider, taller body. Lexus says these changes have helped increase cabin space and make getting in and out of the car easier.
The exterior follows Lexus’ new Clean Tech x Elegance design theme. At the front, the twin L Signature Lamps combine the daytime running lights and turn indicators. The rear gets a new L Signature Lamp design.
Electronic door handles are also part of the package. The car gets Safe Exit Assist, which is designed to help prevent occupants from opening a door when another vehicle or road user is approaching from behind.
Lexus ES 350h: Hybrid Powertrain
The ES 350h gets a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine working with a permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor. The petrol engine develops 139kW at 6,000rpm and 237Nm between 3,600rpm and 5,000rpm.
The electric motor produces 119.1kW at 7,500rpm. The hybrid system uses a lithium-ion battery and a new eAxle, with the power control unit integrated into the transaxle.
Lexus claims an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 25.22km. The company says the revised hybrid system has been developed to offer a balance between performance, fuel efficiency and quieter running. The cabin follows Lexus’ Tazuna cockpit concept, which places important controls and information around the driver for easier access and visibility.
One of the biggest upgrades is the 14-inch high-definition touchscreen running the latest Lexus Interface. A fully digital instrument cluster is also offered.
Another new feature is the Responsive Hidden Switches. Lexus has integrated physical controls into the cabin design, giving the dashboard a cleaner appearance while retaining physical buttons for selected functions.
Lexus ES 350h: Safety and Connected Features
The new ES 350h comes with Lexus Safety System+. Its safety technology includes Pre-Collision System, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, Auto Emergency Brake, Blind Spot Monitor and Automatic High Beam. Eight airbags are standard across the range. The Luxury variant also gets a Drive Monitor.
Through the Lexus Connected application, owners can remotely start the engine, lock the doors, close the windows and control the climate system. The app also supports seat heating and ventilation, while Live Car Tracking and an Emergency Call function are available as well.
Lexus is offering an eight-year or 2,00,000km warranty for the vehicle and hybrid battery. Buyers also get five years of roadside assistance. The company is also offering an Assured Buy Back programme and Lexus Luxury Care service packages.
