New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to enter the midsize SUV segment with its new SUV, which will be based on the modular NU IQ platform. It is believed that this will be the production version of Mahindra Vision S Concept, which was introduced on August 15, 2025 along with Vision T, Vision S and Vision SXT. The Vision S concept, known as 'Baby Scorpio', has off-road design elements along with a powerful and bold look. Its spy images have recently surfaced.

What did the spy images reveal?
Mahindra Vision S has now entered the testing phase as its heavily covered prototype was recently spotted on a public road. The test mule features Mahindra's signature grille with vertical slats, round headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, which were also seen on the Thar Rocks. Like the concept, the test vehicle also has a spare wheel on the tailgate. Apart from this, it includes rectangular fog lamp assembly, integrated radar module on the lower grille, raised wheel arches, larger wheels, flush door handles, flat door panels, rectangular rear quarter glass, vertical rectangular taillamps and flat roof.

Interior and Features
The spy photos suggest that the production-ready Mahindra Vision S will be offered with a panoramic sunroof, although it can be found only in the top variants. Many elements and features of the concept may be retained in it, such as dual screen setup, new three-spoke dual-tone steering wheel, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-tone dashboard, door trims and seat upholstery.

ICE and EV options
Mahindra's new NU IQ platform supports multiple powertrain options, including ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and electric powertrains. Initially, the production-ready Mahindra Vision S may come with petrol and diesel engine options, while an electric version may join the lineup later.

At present there is no official information regarding its launch timeline. However, it is expected that the production-ready Vision S SUV may be seen on Indian roads in 2027. Scorpio is counted among the oldest and popular models of the company.

The Luxeed V9 electric minivan is on track to become the first mass-produced vehicle equipped with helmet airbags integrated into the seating. The new EV will be launched in the Chinese market within the first half of 2026, set to rival its competition as a technology flagship product.

Luxid was established as a joint venture between Huawei and Cherry and was launched in 2023 under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). The company currently operates a portfolio of two models with battery electric and extended range EV (eREV) powertrain configurations, including the S7 sedan and the R7 coupe SUV.

How does a helmet airbag work?

The helmet airbag system is designed to deploy around the occupant's head and neck during a collision, working in conjunction with the side airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners.

In the event of a collision, the seats of the Luxeed V9 are designed to automatically move to a rear-facing safe position. Here, the helmet airbags deploy in conjunction with the side airbags and essentially wrap around the occupant's head, with a small extension that covers the lower half of the face and neck.

The underlying technology was first demonstrated by Yanfeng Automotive Interiors in 2023. Yanfeng is a leading global supplier of interior systems, working with manufacturers such as Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota, BMW, Stellantis, BYD, GAC and Geely. The seat architecture developed by Yanfeng supports large-angle reclining, seat rotation and extended front-off sliding, which generally aims to improve cabin flexibility.

Based on ADAS data, the V9's seats include a pre-crash rapid return system that returns them to an upright position before impact. It also has an integrated seat belt and a pre-installed airbag that deploys early during a collision, helping to limit the occupant's forward motion and reducing the load on the lower back.

It's worth noting that while many users on Weibo have speculated that the Luxeed V9 will offer such security solutions, the brand has yet to officially confirm these details.

The Luxeed V9 is based on Chery's modular E0X-L platform and will showcase Huawei's latest safety and driver-assistance technologies.

The Luxe V9 minivan is based on Chery's modular E0X-L architecture, allowing an extended wheelbase and a body length of more than 5.3 metres.

The Luxeed V9 will reportedly feature powertrain and headlamp technology developed by Huawei. The minivan is expected to offer a large passenger-side display, a massive onboard refrigerator, an oxygen concentrator, and a new 192-line LiDAR system. Expected interior highlights include two independent second-row seats with zero-gravity function, an electrically operated pop-up and soft-close front trunk.

The Luxeed V9 will be built around an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture and will adopt Huawei's Qiankun Advanced Driving System (ADS), which the platform is claimed to be ready for Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities. The model is expected to be offered in both pure EV and EREV versions, with CATL supplying the battery pack for both powertrain options.

प्रतियोगिता को दो व्यापक श्रेणियों में विभाजित किया गया था। प्रो-मॉड श्रेणी उद्देश्य-निर्मित और भारी संशोधित ऑफ-रोड मशीनों के लिए आरक्षित थी। इस बीच, स्टॉक श्रेणी में सीमित उन्नयन के साथ उत्पादन-आधारित 4×4 शामिल थे।

Before the official launch, the company has shared information about the engine specifications, variants and features of both the SUVs. These models have Tata Motors' new 1.5 liter Hyperion petrol engine, which was first introduced in the Sierra SUV. However, this engine has been specially tuned for Harrier and Safari, due to which it generates power of 170 bhp and torque of 280 Nm.

In Tata Sierra, this engine gives maximum power of 160 bhp and torque of 255 Nm. That means Harrier petrol and Safari petrol give 10 bhp more power and 25 Nm extra torque than their new siblings, while they also weigh more.

The interesting thing is that the petrol variants give almost the same power and torque as their diesel variants. Diesel variants deliver 116 bhp power and 260 Nm torque in manual transmission, while 280 Nm torque in automatic transmission. The Tata Harrier petrol lineup is available in seven trims – Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X+, Fearless X, Fearless X+ and the new Fearless Ultra. Tata Motors announced that it has crossed 2,50,000 cumulative EV sales in India, a significant milestone in its electric passenger vehicle business since launching its first mainstream electric car, the Nexon EV, in 2020. That SUV is now the first EV in India to cross 1 lakh cumulative sales.

According to the Indian manufacturer, the latest milestone was recorded across its current EV portfolio, which includes the Nexon EV, Harrier EV, Tiago EV, Express-T EV for the fleet segment and the recently introduced Punch EV. Tata said its EVs now account for a larger share of the overall passenger EV market, supported by early entry into the segment and offering models across body styles and different price points.

The carmaker attributed this growth to growing EV demand among private buyers and fleet operators, especially in urban markets. Tata Motors further claimed that Tata EV owners have collectively driven more than five billion kilometers, a figure that reflects the growing acceptance of EVs in the real world rather than limited-use ownership.

Tata's ongoing commitments towards the Indian EV landscape

Tata continues to invest in Indian charging infrastructure through partnerships and its Tata Power-supported ecosystem, which now has over 20,000 public charging points available across the country.

The company further said that it is preparing to expand its EV lineup with new products based on its dedicated EV architecture along with software and connectivity updates aimed at improving the ownership experience. It is set to launch the upcoming Sierra EV and updated Punch EV in early 2026, while the Avinya range of premium luxury EVs is due to be covered by the end of next year. This is a part of Tata's larger target to have five new EV nameplates, including Sierra and Avinya, by fiscal 2030, supported by major updates to its portfolio.

Interestingly, Mahindra XUV 7XO will be the company's first SUV to get a triple screen setup, which includes a central infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a separate display for the passenger. Apart from this, it will get premium Harman Kardon audio system, auto dimming IRVM, BYOD feature for rear seat entertainment, panoramic sunroof, electric boss mode, customizable ambient lighting, updated level-2 ADAS suite and many other features.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is the only motorcycle in its class to be powered by an engine with a desmodronic valvetrain. The motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion MX32. These are fitted with 260 mm front and 240 mm rear Galfar discs and a Brembo braking system.

The Desmo450 MX includes the usual range of technology we've come to expect from Ducati. Via dedicated switchgear on the handlebar, riders can navigate through two riding modes, launch control, Ducati Traction Control, throttle response maps and engine brake control.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is currently priced at $11,495 in the US market, which roughly means 10.32 lakh.
