New Delhi. Hyundai Motor India today announced that it will give its customers the recent benefit of cutting the Goods and Service Tax (GST) rate on Passenger Vehicle (PVS), which will reduce prices by Rs 2.4 lakh. The new prices will be effective from September 22, the day the new GST rates will be applicable.

Prices will decrease
Price reduction will be on the internal combustion engine (ICE) models, which are now based in 18% GST slab and 40% GST slab. Previously, the total tax on such models was between 29% to 50% (28% GST + 1% to 22% compensation cess). Among all Hyundai cars, the lowest price deduction will be Rs 60,640 at the orna. The biggest price reduction in Taxon will be up to Rs 2,40,303.

In the SUV segment, the price of Excession will be reduced by Rs 89,209. On the Venue and Venue N Line, the price cut will be between Rs 1,19,390 to Rs 1,23,659. The price of Alakazar will be reduced by Rs 75,376, while, as stated earlier, the price of Taxon will be cut by Rs 2,40,303.

From September 22, the prices of all Tata trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles will decrease. The company said that by giving 18% tax to GST, the transport and logistics sector will get strengthened. This will reduce the cost of transporters, fleet operators and small businessmen.

According to the company, the prices of heavy truck (HCV) will be reduced from 2.8 lakh to 4.65 lakh rupees. Light and medium trucks will be cheap from 1 lakh to 3 lakh rupees. Bus and van prices will be cut from Rs 1.2 lakh to 4.35 lakh. Small passenger commercial vehicles will get relief from Rs 52,000 to 66,000. At the same time, pickup trucks will become cheap from 30,000 to 1.1 lakh rupees.

Earlier, the company had announced to reduce the prices of its passenger vehicles. The company had announced that it would cut its passenger cars and SUV prices from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.45 lakh. The new prices will be applicable from September 22, 2025.

  • Tiago (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 75,000.
  • Tigor (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 80,000.
  • Ultrose (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.10 lakh.
  • Panch (compact SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 85,000.
  • Nexon (compact SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.55 lakh.
  • Curve (mid-size SUV)-The price will be cut by Rs 65,000.
  • Harrier (Premium SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.40 lakh.
  • Safari (Premium SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.45 lakh.

New GST system from 22 September
Petrol/CNG vehicles up to 1200 cc and diesel vehicles up to 1500 cc (length up to 4 meters) will now be attached to 18 per cent GST while GST will be 40 per cent on engine above 1200 cc and GST on 4 meters long vehicles. This new GST rates will be applicable from 22 September (on the first day of Navratri).

To give the benefit of recent cuts in GST rate to its buyers, Mahindra & Mahindra on Saturday announced a price reduction in the price of Rs 1.56 lakh on sports utility vehicles (SUVs) like Scorpio, XUV700, Thar and Bolero. This price deduction will be effective from September 6, which came after the government reduced the effective GST rates on vehicles earlier this week.

The GST Council approved the tax deduction earlier this week. However the new GST rates will be effective from September 22, 2025, which is the first day of Navratri; Mahindra has announced an immediate price cut from 22 September today. After the GST rate cut, Mahindra's SUV line-up has become more cheaper, which will save buyers from Rs 1.01 lakh to Rs 1.56 lakh according to the model. Mahindra & Mahindra only make cars in the SUV segment.

GST 2.0: What has changed?

The New Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure, which was dubbed 'GST 2.0', was announced last month and now it has come into force nationwide. The update system simplifies automobile taxation by going into a two-slab structure of 5 percent and 18 percent, with 40 percent slabs reserved for large cars, SUVs and premium motorcycles above 350 cc. Importantly, additional compensation cess has been removed with cess that was previously applied to the top of GST.

This improvement means tax is levied at 18 percent on small cars (petrol up to 1,200 cc and diesel up to 1,500 cc), which is a significant reduction from the first 28 percent. Larger vehicles, including SUV above four meters with large engines, have been slot in 40 percent slab, despite high rates on paper, the last 45–48 percent is cheaper than tax when cess was included.

What does this mean for buyers

For potential SUV buyers, Mahindra's move comes just before the festive season, potentially demanding. While small and medium-sized SUVs such as XUV 3xo see the fastest price cuts, even large models such as Scorpio-N and XUV700 are now slightly more cheaper under GST 2.0.

The R15M comes in the new metallic gray color, while the R15 V4 is available in the metallic black, updated racing blue and matte pearl white paint scheme. No mechanical change
No mechanical changes have been made in the bike. The 2025 Yamaha R15 continues to use 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which comes with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine generates a maximum power of 18.4bhp and torque of 14.2Nm. The updated R15 lineup includes features such as assist and slipper clutch, traction control, upset-down front forks and quick shifters (only in selected variants).

New Delhi. The Vietnamese EV manufacturer, Winfast has finally entered the Indian market and has launched VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. Both models have been brought through the CKD (Completely knocked down) route and will be assembled in the brand factory in Tamil Nadu. Bookings of VF6 and VF7 have already started, and two showrooms have also been opened in Surat and Chennai. The car manufacturer aims to create a network of 35 showrooms in 27 cities by the end of this year.

10 years/2 lakh km standard warranty

Winfast is offering 10 years/2 lakh km of standard warranty on VF7 and its battery pack. 7 years/2 lakh km warranty on VF6 and 10 years/2 lakh km warranty on its battery. Buyers will also get free charging on VGREENS Chargers by July 2028, 3 years free maintenance and free curtain for panoramic sunroof.

VF6: Paurtrain Setup
The Winfast VF6 range and battery Winfast VF6's powertrain setup is equipped with 59.6kwh battery pack, which comes with a single motor and FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. This configuration offers 204bhp power and 310Nm torque. Winfast claims that the VF6 gives a range of Aria-approved 468 km once charged. It takes only 25 minutes to charge 10 to 70% fast. Its wheelbase is 2,730mm and ground clearance is 190mm.

VF7: Range and Battery

The Winfast VF7 range and battery Winfast VF7 have a large 70.8kwh battery pack, which can be taken with a single motor or dual-motor setup. It gives a range of 532 km once charged. The dual-motor AWD version generates maximum power of 350bhp and torque of 500Nm. It catches the speed of EV 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. It takes only 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 70%.

New GST Rates

The revised GST structure has made cars more accessible to all categories of cars. Small cars with length less than 4 meters which will have petrol engines up to 1,200cc or diesel engines up to 1,500cc, now only 18% GST will attract GST, which was earlier 28%, making them 5–13% cheaper. Large cars with lengths more than 4 meters will now face 40% GST instead of 28%, but since the cess has now been removed, their total tax load has come down, which has reduced prices by 3-10%.

While doing this announcement, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited said, “From 22 September 2025, the GST cut on the effective passenger vehicle from September 22, 2025 is a progressive decision that will make the personal mobility more affidavit for millions of people across India. The company has announced that it will cut its passenger cars and SUV prices from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.45 lakh. The new prices will be applicable from September 22, 2025. The company says that this benefit will be completely delivered to the customers.

Which cars are cheap?

  • Tiago (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 75,000. This deduction will be at Rs 4,99,990.
  • Tigor (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 80,000. This deduction will be at Rs 5,99,990.
  • Ultrose (small car) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.10 lakh. This deduction will be at Rs 6,89,000.
  • Panch (compact SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 85,000. This deduction will be at Rs 6,19,990.
  • Nexon (compact SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.55 lakh. This deduction will be at Rs 7,99,990.
  • Curve (mid-size SUV)-The price will be cut by Rs 65,000. This deduction will be at Rs 9,99,990.
  • Harrier (Premium SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.40 lakh. This deduction will be at Rs 14,99,990 for the base variant.
  • Safari (Premium SUV) – The price will be cut by Rs 1.45 lakh. This deduction will be at Rs 15,49,990.

New GST system from 22 September
Petrol/CNG vehicles up to 1200 cc and diesel vehicles up to 1500 cc (length up to 4 meters) will now be attached to 18 per cent GST while GST will be 40 per cent on engine above 1200 cc and GST on 4 meters long vehicles. This new GST rates will be applicable from 22 September (on the first day of Navratri).

Citroen launched 2025 Basalt X Couple SUV, initial price 7.95 lakh rupees. This includes the new CARA assistant, 360-degree camera, two engine options and several premium features.

New Delhi. Citroen has introduced the updated Basalt Coupe SUV, which has now been named Basalt X and its initial price is Rs 7.95 lakh. Additional features have been added to the top-end Max trim, and it is priced at Rs 11.63 lakh (MT) and Rs 12.90 lakh (AT). The price of Plus Trim is between Rs 9.42 lakh to Rs 12.07 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Buyers can choose a 360-degree camera and dual-tone roof finish at an additional Rs 25,000 and Rs 21,000. The booking of 2025 Citroen Basalt X has already started on a token amount of Rs 11,000.

External and internal updates
In external form, 2025 Citroen Basalt X gets a new 'X' symbol on the tailgate; However, over all designs and dimensions live as before. Inside, the Basalt X Max Tim includes the new tan-and-black upholstery, leather-lipted dashboard with slang pattern impresses and bronze-colored trim pieces.

Feature highlights

The main attraction of the update is the introduction of CARA-the new in-car assistant of the brand. This traffic and root provides features like optimization, real-time flight status tracking, calling and SOS, multimedia support, vehicle health updates. However, this feature is available only on automatic variants. Other features include Optional 360-Digry Camera, Auto Deeming IRVM, White Ambient Lighting, Cruise Control, Ventilated Seats, Entry, Push button Start/Stop and LED Fog Lamps.

Engine option
The 2025 Citroen Basalt X Max powers the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 110bhp maximum power. Entry-level trims use 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which provides 82bhp power. The powerful turbo-petrol engine comes with two gearbox options-6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 82bhp petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
