New Delhi. Mahindra and Tata are going to face tough competition in the electric market. Maruti, the largest car selling company in the country, has also launched its first electric SUV in the market. The company has said that it will not only be sold in India, but will also be exported to 100 countries of the world. Maruti has launched this electric SUV in Auto Expo-2025.

Toshihiro Suzuki, representative director and president of Suzuki Motor Corporation at the Auto Expo, said that the electric SUV will be exported to various regions including Europe and Japan. Maruti Suzuki India has introduced its wearable battery electric car e-Vitara. The company plans to export it to more than 100 countries. Suzuki Motor Corporation has about 58 percent stake in Maruti Suzuki India. The company is also planning to make India the global production center for this model.

Where will e-vitara be made
Suzuki said that we are planning to start production of e-Vitara at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant in the coming few months. From here we will export to more than 100 countries including Europe and Japan. He said that motor vehicle manufacturers in India will utilize all their resources to create a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) ecosystem so that customers can experience complete satisfaction.

E-Vitara is the company's first global vehicle
Suzuki said that this will ensure that customers will feel very comfortable and confident while choosing a BEV. E-Vitara is Suzuki's first global strategic battery electric vehicle, which was long awaited in India and many parts of the world. Suzuki said the company is conducting a large-scale study on customer needs for BEVs around the world, especially in key commercial areas India, Japan and Europe. Based on this study, the automaker aims to make BEVs attractive to customers through a three-phase strategy, which also includes the development of a BEV-dedicated platform for optimized performance.

What will be the range of the car?
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maruti Suzuki India, said that we have invested more than Rs 2,100 crore for the manufacturing of e-Vitara in India, which also includes a separate EV production 'line'. The e-Vitara has two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It can run for about 500 kilometers on a single charge. This means that this car will go up to 500 kilometers in a single charging.

How much does this car cost?
Although the company has not yet disclosed the price of e-Vitara, but according to market experts, the company can keep its price at Rs 20 to 25 lakh. This may give tough competition to Mahindra and Tata. Mahindra has also launched BE 06 in the same price range. Apart from this, Tata's Curvv EV, MG Motor's ZS EV and Hyundai's Creta EV are also going to face tough competition from Vitara.
