Big announcement for Delhiites! Subsidy on electric vehicles increased till March 2025, exemption in road tax will also be available

New Delhi. Delhi government has decided to extend its electric vehicle (EV) policy till 31 March 2025. Under this decision, electric vehicles purchased from January 1, 2024 will get the benefit of subsidy and exemption in road tax. This initiative is an important step towards controlling air pollution in the capital and promoting clean transportation modes.

The EV policy, launched in August 2020, was originally implemented for three years. Its aim was to increase the share of electric vehicles in Delhi to 25 percent by 2024. Although the new policy has not been finalized yet, work on Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 is going on, from which further progress is expected in this area in future.

Under the extended policy, subsidies are being given for various types of electric vehicles. On purchasing e-cycle, a subsidy of 25 percent, the maximum limit of which has been fixed at ₹ 5,500, will be given. Subsidy of up to ₹30,000 will be available on commercial vehicles like e-rickshaws and e-carts. Additionally, electric two-wheelers will receive incentives at the rate of ₹5,000 per kWh, ranging up to ₹30,000, depending on battery capacity. E-light commercial vehicles are also being given a discount of up to ₹ 30,000.

In case of electric cars, subsidy was initially given at the rate of ₹10,000 per kWh according to battery capacity for the first 1,000 units, with a maximum limit of ₹1.5 lakh. This benefit ended in August 2021 itself. Now the Delhi government is expected to announce new guidelines in this segment.

Last year, a total of 6,57,312 vehicles were registered in Delhi, out of which 73,610 vehicles were electric. This figure indicates that the demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in the capital. The government believes that the expansion of this policy will further accelerate the sales of electric vehicles and people will be motivated to adopt clean transportation options.

This step will not only help in reducing pollution levels in Delhi, but will also give rise to new possibilities in the electric vehicle market. The government hopes that this policy will play an important role in making the capital pollution free and maintaining environmental balance.

What should be the first car of your life, should you buy it considering your budget or need, how important is the safety rating?

What should be the first car of your life, should you buy it considering your budget or need, how important is the safety rating?

highlights

Decide the budget before buying a car.Mileage and maintenance are also factors. Also take care of safety features.

Life's First Car: Buying the first car is a memorable experience for everyone. But this decision should not be based only on budget and design. While buying your first car, it is important to keep many aspects in mind, so that it proves to be a right and profitable investment for you. Let us know what things should be kept in mind while choosing the first car.

decide the budget first
First of all, you should assess your budget properly. Decide whether you want to buy a new car or whether it would be better for you to get a second-hand car. A new car may cost a little more, but it provides better service in the long run. At the same time, a second-hand car is available at a lower price and can be a good option for beginners in driving. If you are buying a new car, also look into financing options to make your purchase easier.

How much will the car run?
Next, it's important to think about how you'll be using your car. If you mostly drive a car in the city, then hatchback cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 or Tata Tiago can be a good option. At the same time, if you travel long distances on the highway, then sedan or SUV models like Honda City or Tata Nexon would be a better option. If you have a large family, MPVs or 7-seater cars may be suitable for you.

Mileage and maintenance are also factors
Mileage and maintenance is also an important aspect for your first car. Petrol cars are suitable for less driving, whereas diesel or CNG models can prove to be good for more driving. Additionally, electric cars like Tata Nexon EV or MG Comet EV can also be a future-oriented option, as they are environment-friendly and can prove to be economical in the long run.

Take care of safety features also
It is very important to have safety features in your first car. It must include features like dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), rear parking sensors and electronic stability control (ESC). These features will not only ensure your safety but will also increase confidence while driving.
Apart from this, it is also important to keep in mind the resale value of the car. Think about what a good price you can get for your first car if you sell it in the future. Cars from companies like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai generally give better resale value.

Performance and comfort are also important
Don't forget to take a test drive before buying a car. This will help you understand the performance, comfort and driving experience of the car. During the test drive, feel whether the steering, brakes and seating comfort of the car are suitable for your needs or not.

Ultimately, your first car should be one that fits your budget, needs and lifestyle. Do thorough research before buying, compare various options and take a wise decision based on your driving patterns. Choosing the right car will not only make your driving easier but will also give you a satisfying experience in the long run.

Chinese companies are selling cars in India at a rapid pace, but why couldn't Elon Musk sell even a single Tesla car?

Chinese companies are selling cars in India at a rapid pace, but why couldn't Elon Musk sell even a single Tesla car?

New Delhi. India is an emerging market for vehicles. Attracted by the growth of the country's automobile sector, many big companies of the country and the world are expressing their desire to sell their vehicles in India. If we talk about recent times, a big automobile company like Tesla also wants to sell its electric vehicles in India. Tesla tried hard to get permission from the Indian government to sell its electric vehicles in the country, but the company was ultimately disappointed.

On the other hand, despite differences with China, Chinese companies are selling their vehicles in India indiscriminately and are also launching new models year after year. But why are there so many restrictions in India for Tesla, which has proven its electric cars in the world, and what is the reason for this? Today we are going to tell you about this.

Chinese companies got entry in India
Two main Chinese companies BYD and MG Motor are selling their vehicles in India. BYD sells only electric vehicles, whereas MG also sells electric vehicles with internal combustion engine (ICE). Some models of both the companies are being liked very much by the customers in India. MG has become a very popular brand due to its SUVs equipped with internet and personal AI assistant technology, while BYD's electric cars coming with blade battery technology have managed to create their own identity due to their excellent single charge range, features and performance. Are.

MG entered the Indian market in the year 2018, while BYD is present in the domestic market since 2007. Both these companies manufacture and assemble their cars in India only. Due to its excellent technology and affordable electric vehicles, BYD has become a challenge for Tesla in many markets.

Why is Tesla's entry in India difficult?
The biggest problem for Tesla in India is the government's new electric vehicle policy (New EV Policy), which has been prepared keeping in mind the national interest as well as investment and employment generation in the domestic market. Let us tell you that under the new EV policy, a company wishing to sell electric vehicles in India will have to invest at least 500 million US dollars, i.e. approximately Rs 4150 crore in the domestic market. The company has been given 3 years time to set up a plant in India and start sales.

At the same time, the company will have to comply with 50% DVA i.e. Domestic Value Addition within 5 years. Under this rule, from the 5th year onwards the company will have to purchase 50% of the equipment used in its vehicles from the domestic market. At the same time, if the company imports knocked down components (CKD), then it will have to pay import duty of 15 percent. Chinese companies follow the same rules in India.

However, Tesla's planning for selling vehicles in India is something else. Tesla had said in the first round of talks with the Indian government that instead of setting up a plant in the country, it wants to sell vehicles made in China by importing them. For this reason, the government did not give permission to Tesla to sell vehicles in India.

Only 8,000 cars will be imported
Under the new rules, now the company can import only 8000 units of electric cars in the country in a year, the total number of which cannot exceed 40,000 units. Apart from this, for exemption in custom duty, the company will make a bank its guarantor. In case of non-compliance of DVA or minimum investment norms, bank guarantee will be invoked.

The Government of India has also clearly said that companies wishing to invest in India will have to follow this policy. The government will not change its policies as per the demand of any EV company.

Renault Duster may once again make a comeback in the Indian market very soon. The company introduced the right hand drive model of Duster during an event in South Africa. However, it is not yet clear whether this vehicle will be launched in the Indian market or not, but it is certain that the new Duster will be launched first in South Africa in March 2025.

Renault Duster was first launched in the Indian market in 2012. At that time this SUV had gained immense popularity among the customers. But gradually its sales started declining due to not meeting the new emission norms and increasing competition. Eventually, Renault will stop production of Duster in India in 2022. Let us know what features and changes can be seen in this new Duster.

Will get new engine
Three engine options can be seen to power the new Duster. This includes 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, 1.2-litre petrol-hybrid engine and 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid engine. Apart from this, manual and automatic transmission options may also be available in it.

With this new model of Renault, the company wants to strengthen its hold not only in South Africa but also in other markets including India. Now it remains to be seen how much Indian customers like this new Duster.

how will the design be
Renault's upcoming new generation Duster shows glimpses of the Dacia Duster. The design language of the new Duster is inspired by the Dacia Duster and its proportions are also similar to the global variant. However, it has a 'Renault' badge on the front grille instead of 'Dacia', but there is no change in the rest of the styling like headlamps, cladding, side silhouette and tail lamps.

Features like global model in right-hand version
The right-hand drive (RHD) version of the new generation Duster, which has been introduced, is equipped with the interior layout and technology of the global model. The layout, features and technology of the cabin are almost the same as the global model. The only difference is that the position of the steering wheel is on the right side.

The new Duster will see major changes compared to the models sold earlier in India. However, the quality and color choices of the interior do not seem much different from the older models. The company says that this SUV will be officially revealed in India next year.

New Alto will have “fat loss”, the new model will be 100 kg lighter, will get a mileage of 30 km/litre!

New Delhi. Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation is trying to reduce the weight of some of its cars to increase the mileage. According to the company, in the next 10 years the car manufacturer can reduce the weight of its affordable car Alto by up to 100 kg.

The weight of the current generation Alto K10 is 680 kg. After reducing the weight by 100 kg, its curb weight will be around 578 kg, which will make the car more mileage efficient.

Upcoming cars will be more fuel efficient
After reducing the weight, this car will come at par with its original model launched in 1970. The aim of this move by Maruti is to bring smaller and more efficient engines in budget cars. Recently Maruti introduced the Z series engine in the new generation Swift which is more efficient than before.

New Alto will get mileage of 30Kmpl
The company is planning to use this engine in future models like WagonR, Baleno, Franck and Dezire. The company is also preparing biofuel and biogas versions of this engine. Maruti says that this engine is also 40% more thermal efficient. Maruti can launch a new Alto based on a new engine in 2027. It is being claimed in some reports that this engine will be capable of giving a mileage of 30 kilometers in petrol.

Alto number-1 for 16 years
Maruti Alto was the company's best selling car in the Indian market for 16 years. Cars like Alto and WagonR have helped Maruti to establish a foothold in the Indian car market. Now as car manufacturers are moving towards clean energy, the company is also making changes in the engines of its vehicles.

The first electric car will be launched in 2025
Suzuki will launch its first electric car in India next year i.e. early 2025. The company also plans to introduce more efficient hybrid technology. Suzuki believes that the 2KW motor found in its current hybrid cars will become outdated in the future. In such a situation, the company will need a motor with 10KW output which will generate 30% power in the car.

Hyundai unveiled Ioniq 9 SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, range is 540 Km, know the features

Hyundai unveiled Ioniq 9 SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, range is 540 Km, know the features

New Delhi. Hyundai has unveiled its unique and attractively designed electric SUV Ioniq 9 at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2024. This electric SUV will be launched in 2026 and will be available in 3-row seating configuration. Whose design is in retro-futuristic style. Its flat planes and blunt curves distinguish it from other vehicles.

Hyundai's Ioniq series is known for its attractive and different design. Although there is little similarity between the Ioniq 5 SUV and the Ioniq 6 sedan, the Ioniq 9 does share some design themes from the Ioniq 5.

Better Aerodynamics
The front end of this SUV with blunt curves and flat and angled lines on the fenders give it a unique look. Presented in gray color, the design of Ioniq 9 looks like an SUV from science-fiction films. Its pixelated lighting elements add to the identity of the Ioniq lineup.

The coefficient of drag (Cd) of the Ioniq 9 is only 0.269, making it extremely aerodynamic. This feature is usually seen in sports cars. Its active underbody flaps further improve its aerodynamic efficiency.

It is modern and spacious from inside.
EVs generally do not have a transmission hump, so Hyundai has adopted a completely flat floor design. This makes the cabin feel more spacious and comfortable. A 12-inch instrument cluster and 12-inch central touchscreen have been provided for the driver, which together gives the experience of a 24-inch curved screen. Additionally, it includes smart features like an AI-powered voice assistant. However, the swiveling seats in the second row will not be available in the US. But other interior features of the car make it special.

Performance and battery range
