New Gen Maruti Dzire: The next generation model of Maruti Suzuki's most successful sedan Dzire is going to be launched in the Indian market soon. Before the official launch, this new model has been seen during testing, and its complete design has also been revealed.

According to Autocar India's report, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch this sedan after Diwali. The company has taken special care that the look of the new Dzire is different from the Swift hatchback. The leaked image reveals the new design of the next generation Dzire. It includes a larger grille, full LED headlamps, LED fog lights, new front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheels. The new Dzire is built on the Heartect platform of the new Swift, and both cars will have many common components. The new generation Swift is powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine that generates 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. What will be the mileage
According to the company, the petrol manual variant of the new Swift gives a mileage of 24.8 km per liter and the petrol AMT variant gives a mileage of 25.75 km per liter. It is believed that the mileage of Dzire may be slightly less, but it is expected that the CNG variant of Dzire can also be launched.

The new Dzire will get features like a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charger, 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold control, auto climate control, rear parking sensor, reverse camera, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, LED headlights and LED taillights. Apart from this, the new model will also have LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.

In the Indian market, it will compete with Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura, but Dzire is at the forefront in its category and its sales are unmatched.

MG Windsor EV: Country's cheapest electric SUV launched, running cost will be only Rs 3.5 lakh

New Delhi. MG Motor India has finally launched its third full electric car, the Windsor EV, in India. The introductory price of this car has been fixed at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, there is a big twist in this. This price is only for the car, while the company will rent the battery as a “service”, which will be charged Rs 3.5 per kilometer.

Bookings for the MG Windsor EV will begin from October 3, and test drives will be available from October 13. So far, the company has not revealed the full price and delivery dates of this compact utility vehicle (CUV). The Windsor EV will be available in three variants including Excite, Exclusive, and Essence.

MG Windsor EV: Exterior
As mentioned earlier, the MG Windsor EV is a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV sold in China. Inspired by the design of the Cloud EV, the Windsor EV features a sleek split headlight setup and connected LED DRLs. Its side profile looks quite simple and attractive, with flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels giving it a clean and modern look.

MG Windsor EV: Features are great
Inside the car, there is a massive 15.6-inch infotainment system, which is the largest in its segment and offers seamless connectivity with integrated apps like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and JioSaavn. The 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster further enhances the driving experience. The rear seat reclines up to 135 degrees, while the front electrically adjustable seats and rear AC vents add extra comfort.

One special thing is that the MG Windsor EV is the first mass-market EV to feature a stunning glass roof. Apart from this, it has premium features like 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 256 multi-color ambient lights. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 9-speaker Infinity sound system, wireless phone charging, and powered tailgate.

MG Windsor EV: Battery and Range
The MG Windsor EV is powered by a 38kWh LFP battery that uses prismatic cells. The battery sends power to an electric motor that is mounted on the front axle. The motor produces 134 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. According to ARAI, it has an estimated range of 331 km on a single full charge. It has four drive modes: Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport.

MG Motor is also offering multiple charging options with the Windsor EV. This includes a 3.3 kW CCS2 connection, which takes 13.8 hours to charge the battery. Apart from this, 7.4 kW and 50 kW charging options are also available, which can charge the battery in 6.5 hours and 55 minutes respectively. The battery can also be charged with a 45 kW DC fast charger. Along with this, MG is renting out the battery as a service at a rate of Rs 3.5 per km.

MG Windsor EV: How much will it cost to run?
Suppose you travel 50,000 kms in a year with this electric car, then the battery rent will cost you less than Rs 2 lakh. That means after buying MG Windsor EV, you will pay Rs 3.5 lakh as battery subscription cost.

The car from a neighbouring country is going viral! It dives in water, has 13 cameras and 20 radars installed

The car from a neighbouring country is going viral! It dives in water, has 13 cameras and 20 radars installed

Viral SUV: These days, a video of a car is going viral on social media. This car sometimes moves on land and sometimes floats in water like a boat. Not only this, this car turns completely while standing at one place like a tank. People are surprised to see the feats of this car on social media and are calling it an all-rounder car.

This car which looks like a Range Rover is equipped with many more features than that. Till now people used to praise the capabilities and features of Land Rover cars to run on rough and difficult roads, but in front of its capabilities even Land Rover seems dwarfed. So let's know where this car is from and where you can get it if you want to buy it.

Hybrid SUV from neighbouring country is going viral
This car viral on social media is not from America or any European country but from China. Yes, this car is the YangWang U8 SUV of Chinese car manufacturer BYD's sister brand YangWang. The company launched this car in China only last year. This is a hybrid SUV which is equipped with a diesel engine as well as lithium ion battery. This SUV can run on the road and rough roads as well as swim in water.

yangwang u8

Land Rover may bite the dust
Yangwang U8 can take a 360 degree turn while standing at one place. With all these features, it has been included in the list of most expensive cars in China. In China, it has been launched in two editions – Premium and Off Road. The price of its Premium edition is 1,089,000 Yuan (150k USD) which is Rs 1.28 crore according to Indian currency. Currently, this car has been launched only in China but the company plans to take it to the global market as well. If this happens, it can give tough competition to even capable SUVs like Range Rover.

Electric motor fitted with the engine
Since this car is hybrid, it has a 2.0L turbo powered engine with a 49.05 kWh capacity blade battery. This car is a unique example of advanced technology. The surprising thing is that its battery has not been installed separately but it has been integrated into the frame of the car. With this kind of technology, space has been saved inside the car to provide passengers and other features. Yangwang U8 has seats for 5 passengers, while its weight is approximately 4000 kg.

Features that will blow your mind
This car can generate 880 kW of power and 1,280 Nm of peak torque. Despite weighing 4 tonnes, it takes only 3.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. If we talk about speed, it can be driven at a top speed of 120 kmph. Nvidia's chip has been installed in the SUV to control electronic features. This car has 38 sensors, 3 lidar radars, 13 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 mm wave radars and Level 2-ADAS suit safety feature. 6 large screens have been installed inside the car. At the same time, it also has features like thermographic camera and satellite phone for driving at night.

PM E-Drive: If you are going to buy a new electric car, now you will not get subsidy, two-three wheelers are included in PM E-Drive

PM E-Drive: If you are going to buy a new electric car, now you will not get subsidy, two-three wheelers are included in PM E-Drive

New Delhi. To promote the sale of electric vehicles, the central government has announced a new subsidy scheme PM E-Drive. This scheme has been implemented after the FAME II subsidy scheme ended in March this year. However, only electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and electric buses are included in this subsidy scheme, while electric and hybrid cars are out of this scheme. This scheme will remain in force till March 2025.

Under PM E-Drive, a total amount of Rs 10,900 crore has been set aside for 24,80,000 electric two-wheelers, 3,16,000 three-wheelers and 14,028 electric buses. This will be implemented as the third phase of the FAME scheme. Let us tell you that under the FAME-2 scheme, more than 16 lakh electric vehicles have been provided the benefit of subsidy.

Availability of charging stations will increase
Additionally, Rs 500 crore each has been set aside for electric trucks and hybrid ambulances, aimed at promoting EV adoption in critical service sectors and the commercial vehicle segment for the first time. The scheme for trucks will provide incentives only to those who have a scrapping certificate obtained from vehicle scrapping centres approved by the Road Ministry.

The e-drive scheme will also aim to develop a comprehensive charging infrastructure. Charging infrastructure development is also being promoted, with Rs 2,000 crore being provided for installing 22,100 fast chargers for electric four-wheelers, 1800 fast chargers for e-buses and 48,400 fast chargers for e-two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Apart from the subsidy, the government also announced a Payment Security Mechanism Fund (PSMF) of Rs 3,435 crore for 38,000 electric buses, which will reduce financial risks for bus operators and promote electrification of the public transport network.

Those who buy electric cars will not get subsidy
Those buying private electric cars under the PM E-Drive scheme have been excluded from the subsidy. This is a big blow to India's largest electric car company Tata Motors and other electric passenger car manufacturers.

Union Heavy Industries Minister H D Kumaraswamy said the aim is to achieve 10% EV penetration in the two-wheeler sector and 15% EV penetration in the three-wheeler sector by March 2026 and accelerate the adoption of EVs and set up the necessary charging infrastructure to promote clean transportation. Responding to a question about the reason for excluding electric cars from the scheme, he said GST for private electric cars is at the lower slab of 5%.

National Highway Fee Amendment Rules, 2024 came into force in the country. There will be no toll for a 20 km journey on the highway. The rule has been implemented for GPS navigation based users.

New Delhi. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday announced significant changes in the National Highway Fee Rules. The new rules, called the “National Highway Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Amendment Rules, 2024”, introduce a zero-fee policy for the first 20 kilometres of travel on national highways. That is, you will not have to pay any toll for a journey of 20 kilometres.

This provision will be applicable only for those vehicles which are equipped with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) on-board unit. As per the latest amendment, vehicles other than those with national permit will not have to pay any fee for the first 20 kms of travel on national highway, permanent bridge, bypass or tunnel.

Toll will be charged only if the vehicle is driven more than 20 km
If a distance of more than 20 km is travelled in a day, users will be charged toll only for the actual travel distance over 20 km. The change is aimed at reducing the financial burden on drivers for short journeys, while maintaining a fair fee structure for longer journeys.

The order issued by the ministry said, “Under the Global Navigation Satellite System based user fee collection system, the driver, owner or person in charge of a motor vehicle other than a national permit vehicle using the same section will be charged zero-fee for travel up to 20 km per direction. If the distance exceeds 20 km, then only the actual travel distance will be charged.”

Earlier, in July, the Road Ministry had announced the implementation of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based toll collection system on a pilot basis on select national highways as an additional feature along with FASTag.

However, there are some shortcomings in it due to which this powerful SUV looks dwarfed in front of the new Hyundai Alcazar.

The new Hyundai Alcazar is priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Its design is great as well as it has been introduced with more than 70 connected car features and advanced safety features, making it a strong alternative to the Scorpio-N in the segment. Let's know what are the features in the 2024 Alcazar that make it the best 7-seater SUV in this segment.

Connected LED DRL Setup
Like the Creta, the new Alcazar has a front and rear connected LED DRL light setup. The company has given this SUV a modern look by breaking the conventional design. Its DRL lights will definitely attract your attention when they are lit at night. Please note that this type of DRL light setup is not available in any variant of Scorpio-N.

Level-2 ADAS
Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is now becoming a common feature in C-segment SUVs. In the Indian market, vehicles like Tata Safari Mahindra, XUV 700, Toyota Innova Highcross are coming with Level-2 ADAS. The company has also provided Level-2 ADAS in the new Alcazar, which the company calls Smart Sense. It has advanced features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. However, this feature is not available in any variant of Mahindra Scorpio-N. Due to its lack, Scorpio-N has also received poor safety ratings in many countries.

Over 70 connected car features
More than 70+ BlueLink connected car features have been provided in the new Alcazar. It also has smartwatch and smartphone connectivity. This premium SUV has 270+ embedded VR commands, which come with Hinglish and 135 Hindi voice commands. It also supports 10 regional and 2 international languages.

Dual screen setup
The Alcazar facelift has a dual-screen setup, which includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. This feature is also becoming common in C segment SUVs. Let us tell you that the dual-screen setup is not yet available in Mahindra Scorpio-N.

8-way power adjustment for front seats
Alcazar is also a step ahead of Scorpio-N in terms of seat arrangement and passenger comfort. It also has 8-way power adjustment for the front seats. Alcazar has an electric boss mode which allows the passenger sitting in the rear seat to adjust the front passenger seat. Such a feature is not currently available in any variant of Scorpio-N.

Should we wait for 2 years for an electric car? When will EVs become as cheap as petrol cars?

Should we wait for 2 years for an electric car? When will EVs become as cheap as petrol cars?

New Delhi. Many efforts are being made to promote electric vehicles in the country. However, their acceptance among people is low due to their higher price compared to petrol vehicles. The price of electric two-wheelers has come down due to the start of manufacturing of electric vehicles and components in the country itself, but electric cars are still very expensive. Highways and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has raised the issue of the price of electric vehicles and their sale many times.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari says that the price of electric cars will be equal to that of petrol cars in the next 2 years. Their sales will start increasing as the price will become affordable for the common man. Nitin Gadkari has been in favor of electric mobility for a long time. Speaking at the 64th ACMA Annual Session, Gadkari emphasized on measures to make electric vehicles affordable for the general public.

Road safety is also a matter of concern
Gadkari also reflected on the skepticism he received from major automobile manufacturers a decade ago. “Ten years ago, when I was pushing for EVs, the automobile giants in India did not take me seriously. Now, they tell me that maybe they have missed an opportunity,” Gadkari said. He stressed that the industry's outlook on EVs has changed significantly.

During his address, the minister also urged automobile companies to contribute to road safety initiatives through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. He emphasised that road safety remains a key concern for his ministry, as poorly designed and engineered roads are one of the major causes of accidents in India.

Subsidy is needed to promote e-vehicles
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also said that he is not against giving additional subsidies or incentives for electric vehicles (EVs) if the Finance Ministry or the Industry Ministry decides to implement them.

Gadkari said, “I am not against any additional subsidy or incentive for electric vehicles. If the Finance Minister and the Industry Minister want to give more, I have no problem.”

However, he pointed out that incentives would not be needed after two years, as by then the cost of EVs is expected to be at par with petrol and diesel vehicles. Nevertheless, he confirmed his openness to any further incentives during this transition period.

China's Xiaomi launches cheap electric car. When launched in India, the price could be Rs 3.47 lakh. This car is capable of running 1200 km on full charge.

New Delhi. China is rapidly gaining its foothold in the electric vehicle segment. The company has developed battery-related technology that charges faster and provides longer range. Last year, China's Bestune brand Xiaomi launched a small electric car. Through this, the company is trying to increase its share in the micro-EV segment.

Shaoma will compete directly with Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. The demand for micro electric cars is the highest in China. The price of Bestune Shaoma is between 30,000 to 50,000 yuan (about Rs 3.47 lakh to Rs 5.78 lakh). It is expected that it will soon be launched in the Indian market as well, where it will compete directly with Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.

Bestune showcased the Shaoma at the Shanghai Auto Show in early April 2023. It offered both hardtop and convertible variants. Currently, the hardtop variant is on sale, while the convertible variant has not been confirmed to be available for sale in the future.

This car has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which makes it modern. The dashboard has an attractive dual-tone theme, which makes it even more stylish. The dual-tone color scheme of Xiaomi is such that it looks inspired by an animation film. It has large square headlamps with rounded edges, which make its profile attractive. Apart from this, aerodynamic wheels have been used in it, which can be helpful in increasing its range.

Bestune is based on the Shaoma FME platform, which includes dedicated chassis for electric vehicles (EVs) and range extenders. Earlier, a ride-hailing EV called NAT was also built on the same platform. The FME platform has two sub-platforms: A1 and A2. The A1 sub-platform is suitable for subcompact and compact cars with a wheelbase of 2700-2850 mm, while the A2 platform is used for cars with a wheelbase of 2700-3000 mm. Under this platform, the range of EVs can be 800 km and the range of range extenders can be more than 1200 km. Both platforms support 800V architecture.
