Huge jump in demand for automatic transmission cars in urban markets, sales of CVT and AMT models increased.

Huge jump in demand for automatic transmission cars in urban markets, sales of CVT and AMT models increased.

New Delhi. Now the demand for automatic transmission (AT) vehicles is increasing rapidly in the country. Despite expensive prices, people are now choosing automatic cars for more comfortable driving experience and better fuel efficiency. These vehicles, once considered luxury, now account for about 26% of the country's mass-market vehicle sales, whereas in 2020 this figure was only 16%. This information has come out from the data collected by Jato Dynamics. Due to increasing traffic in urban and metro cities, people are now turning towards such cars which can move easily in heavy traffic.

According to this data, one out of every three cars sold in the top 20 cities of the country is now with automatic transmission. However, they cost ₹60,000 to ₹2 lakh more than manual cars. Nevertheless, the increasing demand for automatic cars is closing this gap.

AT option in 83 models
The availability of AT options in the market is increasing rapidly. Currently there are 83 models in which the option of automatic transmission is being offered. Major automobile manufacturing companies like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai and Kia are promoting their AT models.

Honda's success and popularity of CVT
Honda Motors, which offers advanced Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) in its cars, has more than 50% of the company's total sales coming from automatic vehicles. According to Honda, about 60% of the company's cars are sold in CVT variants, because CVT transmission is not limited to only the top variants, but it is also available in the lower variants of all the models.

Honda's line-up includes models like Elevate, City, City e:HEV and Amaze. These automatic transmission cars are not only more fuel efficient, but they offer options ranging from affordable AMT to CVT and high-performance DCT.

Increasing popularity among buyers of every category
The popularity of automatic transmission cars is increasing among people of every age and class. The main reasons for this are believed to be increasing urbanization, increasing income of people and increasing trend towards convenient driving. Car manufacturers are expecting this trend to increase further.

still dependent on imports
Although demand for automatic transmissions has increased, Indian carmakers are still importing most of the automatic gearboxes. Due to this, the cost of automatic cars increases and by the time they reach the customers, cars with automatic gearbox become expensive. However, companies like Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra have localized AMT production, making automatic cars more accessible in the budget segment.

These 4 cars have the weakest iron, they failed in the crash test, yet people are standing in line to buy them.

New Delhi. Today lakhs of two-wheelers and four-wheelers are being sold across the country. While braking system is mainly used as a safety feature in two-wheelers, safety is very important in four-wheelers. Although, there are many such models in the country which are in high demand, but they are proving to be weak in terms of safety.

Most of these include Maruti models, which are selling well in the market, but are failing in crash tests. Let us know about 4 such cars which have got very poor ratings in crash tests but people are buying them indiscriminately in the market.

Maruti Ertiga has only 1-star safety rating
Maruti's popular 7-seater Ertiga has received only 1-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Ertiga got 23.63 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection, while it got only 19.40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. This car is the best seller in the 7-seater segment, but has proved to be weak in terms of safety. The starting ex-showroom price of Ertiga is Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Nexa Ignis also gets only one star in safety
Nexa dealership's entry level car Ignis has also got only 1-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. It got 16.48 points out of 34 for adult occupant protection, while it got only 3.86 points out of 49 for child occupant protection. The starting ex-showroom price of Ignis is Rs 5.84 lakh.

S-Presso also lags behind in safety
Maruti's mini SUV S-Presso has also received a 1-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. It got 20.03 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection, while it got 3.52 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The starting ex-showroom price of S-Presso is Rs 4.27 lakh.

WagonR is most popular, but fails in safety
Maruti WagonR, one of the most popular cars in the country, has also received a 1-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. It got 19.69 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection, while it got only 3.40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The starting ex-showroom price of WagonR is Rs 5.55 lakh. Nearly 1 lakh units of this car have been sold in the first 6 months of this year, but this car is also far behind in terms of safety.

Pay attention before buying
If you are planning to buy a car, then definitely look at its safety rating before buying. The safety ratings of many popular cars sold in the market are quite poor. In such a situation, if you want full value of your money, then include safety also in the list.

There is neither steering nor pedals, Tesla's Robotaxi will decide its own path, the price is this much

There is neither steering nor pedals, Tesla's Robotaxi will decide its own path, the price is this much

New Delhi. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has finally launched the company's first robotaxi after a long wait. This robotaxi, which runs entirely on battery, has been named Cybercab. The company launched it at an event at Warner Bros. Studio in Los Angeles. Musk announced that production of the Cybercab will begin in 2026 and it will be priced under $30,000 (approximately ₹25 lakh).

Tesla fans were eagerly waiting for this event, because the event was already running late. Nearly 3.3 million viewers participated in the livestream on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

How is CyberCab?
The CyberCab electric taxi has a seating capacity of only two people and has neither pedals nor steering, making it a fully automated vehicle. Both its doors open upwards like the wings of a butterfly.

More safe than ordinary cars
During the launch, Musk said that autonomous vehicles could be 10 to 20 times safer than human-driven vehicles, and would also be much cheaper. He estimated that the cost of operating a self-driving car would be about $0.20 per mile, compared to $1 per mile for city buses.

Why is Tesla making Cybercab?
Automation has been a key tenet of Elon Musk's strategy. Musk has long been promising to bring fully automated, driverless cars to the market. Through CyberCab, Tesla wants to take this vision a step further, through which this taxi service will be offered through its own ride-hailing app. Musk has been talking about a ride-hailing business since 2019, but there has been little progress so far.

According to a report by TechCrunch, Musk is also planning to allow Tesla users to rent their vehicles through ride-hailing apps, in which the company will take about 25-30% commission.

Ratan Tata, who showed the worth of Ford Motors, is no more but the lesson will be remembered

Ratan Tata, who showed the worth of Ford Motors, is no more but the lesson will be remembered

A month ago, big news came from the world of car manufacturing. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin had gone to America. There he met the leadership team of Ford Motors. Three years ago, during the Corona period, Ford had decided to withdraw its luggage from India. Now it was time to reverse this decision. Ford International Market President K Hart said that the company wants to reopen the Chennai plant. Wants to make cars there again which will be exported. When the company took the decision to close the Sanand and Chennai plants in Gujarat, it suffered a loss of two billion dollars. No company wants to face such a situation, but it was not expected that the condition of this American company would get so bad so soon. However, there was one person who understood this situation—Ratan Tata. At one point Ford tried to humiliate him at his headquarters. Salt to steel maker Ratan Tata is no longer with us today, but the business culture he nurtured will remain an icon.

truck to car journey

In 1991, Ratan Tata became the chairman of Tata Group. At that time Tata Motors was mainly known for manufacturing trucks. Tata Motors entered car manufacturing in 1998 and launched the Tata Indica at the end of the year. It was the first modern car designed by an Indian company. Ratan Tata worked very hard for this, but when the car came in the market, it did not live up to the expectations and his dream started falling apart.

Indica has seen the highest number of breakdown complaints on the roads of Delhi and Mumbai, especially during the rainy season. In 1999, Tata Group planned to close the car business. Ratan Tata was disappointed and considered it a big blow for himself.

Then Ford Motors proposed to buy the car business of Tata Motors. Ratan Tata and his team went to Ford's headquarters in Detroit, where they were humiliated in a three-hour meeting. Ford Chairman Bill Ford asked Ratan Tata, “When you had no experience in making cars, why did you take this childish step?” He said they would do him a favor by buying his car business. Hearing this, Ratan Tata was very hurt and that very night he gave up the idea of selling the car business and returned to Mumbai on the very next flight.

Bill Ford said to Ratan Tata, “When you had no experience in making cars, why did you take this childish step?” He said they would do him a favor by buying his car business. Ratan Tata was very hurt after hearing this and that very night he gave up the idea of selling the car business and returned to Mumbai on the very next flight.

Ratan Tata had decided that now he would teach Ford a lesson. In 2008, Tata Motors reached new heights of success, while Ford's situation was deteriorating. In the same year, Ratan Tata proposed to buy Ford's Jaguar and Land Rover brands. At that time Ford was incurring huge losses from these brands. When Bill Ford came to Mumbai, he said, “You are doing us a big favor.” Ratan Tata did not close these brands, but made them successful.

Today Jaguar and Land Rover are among the world's most popular car brands, and Tata Motors is a leading international car company. Ratan Tata's name will be taken among the most respected industrialists of the world. Not as arrogant as Bill Ford. The Tata Group donates 66 percent of its earnings to charity. Goodbye Ratan Novel Tata.

The price of this SUV has been reduced by Rs 20 lakh, old customers will get a voucher of Rs 5 lakh, it runs 809 km on full charge.

New Delhi. Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price cut for its EQE SUV. The company has reduced the price of this SUV by Rs 20 lakh to Rs 1.19 crore (ex-showroom). This step has been taken to differentiate the EQE from the recently launched EQS SUV. The company aims to increase the EQE's competitiveness through this price cut and attract more buyers, as well as bring clarity to Mercedes-Benz's lineup of electric vehicles.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is priced at ₹1.41 crore and is offered as a CKD (completely knocked-down) unit. In contrast, the EQE SUV was earlier imported as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) model. This reduction in price will create a gap between the two models which will help in positioning both the vehicles better in the market.

Old customers will get vouchers
Additionally, the company has also announced that those who had previously purchased the EQE SUV at a higher price will get a voucher worth ₹5 lakh. This voucher can be used on the purchase of any new Mercedes-Benz vehicle within the next three years. This initiative has been taken by the company to encourage customer loyalty and to recognize early buyers.

Battery, range and performance
It is noteworthy that EQE SUV is the third electric vehicle launched by Mercedes-Benz India this year. This SUV comes after EQA and EQS Maybach SUV. The EQE SUV is fitted with a 122 kWh battery pack and has dual motors on each axle of the car. This SUV offers 544 hp of power and 858 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Also, this SUV is claimed to cover a distance of up to 809 km on a single charge.

Tractors and SUVs of this company are not only sold in India but today they are in demand in many markets around the world. This company is ahead of Tata Motors in terms of selling its SUVs outside the country. Yes, we are talking about Mahindra & Mahindra, which is not only very popular in the Indian automobile market due to its powerful SUVs, but its engines are also dominant in many countries of the world today. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine developed at Mahindra's research center has today set a new example in the SUV segment. This engine not only gives a new dimension to the performance of Mahindra's popular SUVs Scorpio and Thar, but is also posing a big challenge for other companies in the automobile sector. Let us know why foreign companies are afraid of this engine.

The engine was launched with Scorpio
Mahindra first introduced the 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine with the Scorpio in 2002 to boost its falling SUV sales. mHawk engine technology was developed by Mahindra in collaboration with AVL of Austria. This engine has been famous for its excellent performance and durability since its inception. Today, Mahindra is using this engine in many of its major SUV models, due to which the company has been able to create a strong position in the Indian automobile industry.

No one in conflict with mHawk engine
Today Mahindra is using the 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine in Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N, XUV700 and Thar. The most special thing about this engine is its ability to generate power. The refinement of this engine has been specifically designed as per the needs of the Indian market, resulting in less noise inside the vehicle and better driving experience.

Impact on competing companies
Mahindra's mHawk engine has presented new challenges to many major automobile brands like Tata, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Ford. While SUVs like Tata Motors' Nexon and Hyundai's Creta are already popular, Mahindra's Scorpio and Thar are gaining momentum due to their powerful engines and off-roading capabilities.

This engine gives Mahindra a significant edge over other brands and sets new benchmarks in the industry.
