There is a 174 power motor with a large 61 kWh battery, which will be able to produce 189 Nm torque. It is currently offered with 2WD (front-wheel drive) option.

Talking about the range, the ARAI-claimed maximum range is 543 km with the large 61 kWh battery, which gives the ability to cover long distances on a single charge. Range will be lower with the smaller battery, which is estimated to be around 344-400 km. Charging will support AC charger (6.5-9 hours at 7kW) and DC fast charging (10-80% in just 45 minutes). The company has not announced the price yet. However, customers will be able to book it from today itself for a token amount of Rs 25 thousand.

This five seater SUV has achieved five star rating in Bharat NCAP. It has got 31.49 out of 32 marks for adult safety and 43 out of 49 marks for child safety. Standard safety features include seven airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX mounts. It is believed that the price of the initial variant of this EV will be around Rs 19 lakh, in which a smaller battery pack will be available. At the same time, the price of the top variant with a bigger battery pack can go up to Rs 25 lakh. The new Toyota EV will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curve EV, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti E Vitara.

The Urban Cruiser EV is actually a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, which is going to hit the showrooms soon.
