For the first time ever, the Lamborghini EV is arriving later than previously told. here's why

For the first time ever, the Lamborghini EV is arriving later than previously told. here's why

  • The Lamborghini Lanzador Concept EV was unveiled in 2023, but the production version is now arriving a year after the initially announced date.
Lamborghini's all-electric Lanzador is touted as an extremely powerful machine with zero tailpipe emissions.

It has been known for a long time that a Lamborghini electric supercar is coming. But while the Italians had previously confirmed an unveiling in 2028, the company's top boss has now said the showcase has now been pushed back a year. The Lamborghini Lanzador Concept EV version was previously showcased in 2023 and the production version will be based on it.

The first-ever Lamborghini EV or electric vehicle is one of the most anticipated unveilings of the decade and while purists continue to argue against the idea, the march of battery-powered mobility options has included supercars as well. It was never about 'if' but 'when' and when Lamborghini confirmed plans to go electric, there was a lot of excitement in the automotive world about the decision. However according to Reuters, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has said that unveiling plans have been moved to 2029.

Also Read: With Lanzador EV, Lamborghini is prioritizing crossovers over sedans

Winkelmann explained that the reason for pushing back the unveiling timeline is to ensure that the market is ready for a Lamborghini EV. He reportedly said, “We don't think 2029 will be too late for electric cars. We don't think, in our segment, the market will be ready in 2025 or 2026.”

lamborghini hybrid vs electrics

Lamborghini is famous for building some of the most powerful sports cars in the world since the 1960s. But when it launched its first SUV, skeptics suspected a change in strategy. But the Lamborghini Urus has been a big hit, propelling the Italian supercar maker to record sales and profits. There is now a Lamborghini Urus Hybrid as well as a Lamborghini Temerario which is powered by a V8 twin-turbo engine with three electric motors. The Lamborghini Revuelto plug-in hybrid has also been a hot favorite since its launch in 2023.

While Lamborghini has underlined its commitment to hybrid technology, there are also plans to go fully electric. And Lanzador is a march towards this ultimate objective.

The Lamborghini Lanzadore Concept showcased last year is a grand tourer with a 2+2 seating arrangement. It has a high-power electric motor on each axle which means it will have permanent all-wheel drive. The EV will feature e-torque vectoring on the rear axle Lamborghini says the maximum power output will be over one megawatt which is around 1,340 bhp. It has also been confirmed that the Lanzador will come with Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) which is essentially a driving dynamics control system. There will be multiple sensors and actuators that will be integrated into the system that ensures precise driving behavior.

Gautam Singhania criticizes Lamborghini for not responding to customer complaints

Gautam Singhania criticizes Lamborghini for not responding to customer complaints

  • Industrialist Gautam Singhania had raised reliability concerns after test-driving the Lamborghini Revuelto in Mumbai.
Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds, the Lamborghini Revuelto is also one of the most expensive offerings from the Italian brand.

Raymond Group Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Singhania has blamed Italian carmaker Lamborghini for “arrogance” as it failed to approach him over his car issue.

Singhania had earlier tweeted on Twitter that his Lamborghini Revuelto was stranded on Mumbai's Trans-Harbour Link due to a complete electrical failure.

“I am shocked by the arrogance of India Head @Agarwal_Sharad and Asia Head Francesco Scardaoni. No one even reached out to investigate what the customer's problems were,” he tweeted on Sunday.

Lamborghini India could not be immediately contacted regarding this matter.

In a tweet on October 16, Singhania had said that Lamborghini India and Asia leadership failed to reach out to him despite being an old loyal customer.

“It's shocking that Lamborghini's India head @agarwal_sharad didn't even bother to call to find out what problem an old loyal customer was facing. Is the brand's arrogance reaching another level?” He tweeted.

Earlier this month, Singhania had tweeted about taking his new Lamborghini Revuelto for a test drive and getting stranded on the Trans-Harbour Link due to a complete electrical failure.

He had said, “This is a brand new car. Are there any concerns about reliability? This is the third car I have heard of that is having problems within 15 days of delivery.”

Lamborghini Revuelto is priced around 8.89 crores in India.

Lamborghini Temerario name trademarked in Europe. Is this the Huracan successor?

Lamborghini Temerario name trademarked in Europe. Is this the Huracan successor?

Lamborghini has trademarked the Temerario name in Europe, hinting that the new name will be used for the Huracan replacement set to arrive later this

The Lamborghini Temerario could be the name of Huracan replacement set to arrive later this year with a hybrid powertrain (YouTube/NCars)

Lamborghini is all set to drop the curtains on the Huracan at the end of this year but we already know that a replacement is on the way, which will make its debut later this year. While Lamborghini has not revealed much about the Huracan successor, it seems the upcoming supercar’s name has been leaked online. The upcoming Huracan replacement could be called the ‘Temerario’ upon launch, joining the Revuelto in the brand’s new era.

Lamborghini recently submitted the ‘Temerario’ name for a trademark filing with the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The letters ‘T’ and ‘O’ get bull horns, while the font style feels identical to that of other Lambo models.

The word Temerario loosely translates to fearless or daredevil in English, which would be apt for the supercar. It’s unclear if the name has any connection to Spanish fighting bulls, which is where Lamborghini traditionally derives the names of its cars. For instance, the Revuelto was the name of a fighting bull in the 1800s.

The Lamborghini Temerario will mark a transition for the brand as the second supercar to get an electrified powertrain. Much like the Revuelto, the Huracan replacement will get an ICE engine with electric support. The supercar will get the newly-developed twin-turbo V8, in place of the 5.2-litre naturally aspired V10. While the V8 will be smaller, it is expected to produce more power with the help of axial-flux electric motors like the Revuelto. Power will go to all four wheels via an automatic transmission.

More details on the Lamborghini Temerario should be revealed in the coming months and we can expect the model to arrive in India sometime next year. The new car will also sport the recently revealed updated Lamborghini logo. Meanwhile, the final units of the Huracan have already been spoken for, ensuring the order books are full for the supercar, the last of the naturally aspirated era.

The Lamborghini Urus Performante also gets a special livery created by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the design division of the automaker. It combines the Italian Police’s classic blue shade with white, along with police logos made out of reflective film on the doors. A big Italian flag motif has been integrated as well. The Urus also has roof-mounted 360-degree LED blue lights and a dual-tone electric siren.

Lamborghini Revuelto with 1000 bhp to launch in India on December 6th

Lamborghini Revuelto with 1000 bhp to launch in India on December 6th

Lamborghini will be launching their new flagship supercar in the Indian market on December 6th. It is called Revuelto and it is a successor to the iconic Aventador. Lamborghini Revuelto is all-new when compared to the Aventador. Now, the manufacturer has announced that they will be launching the Revuelto in India on December 6th.

By: Paarth Khatri
| Updated on: 08 Nov 2023, 15:08 PM

The Revuelto looks like a proper Lamborghini with its sharp and aggressive styling.

Lamborghini has retained the naturally aspirated V12 engine for the Revuelto but it is an all-new unit that has been developed from the ground up. It is a 6.5-litre unit that puts out 813 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 725 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The engine has a screaming redline of 9,500 rpm. The new engine is lighter by 17 kg when compared to the V12 on the Aventador. It weighs just 218 kg.

The engine comes mated to a new 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The transmission is now positioned behind the engine which means that it is mounted transversely.

Apart from the engine, the gearbox is also mated to three electric motors. There are two on the front axle and one on the gearbox. This makes Revuelto all-wheel drive. There is no traditional reverse gear. Instead, the front electric motors act as the reverse gear and they also enable torque vectoring.

The electric motors are powered via a 3.8 kWh battery pack which is positioned between the centre console. The rear motor also acts as a starter motor and generator. The battery pack can be charged up to an electric current of 7 kW and takes just 30 minutes to fully charge. The V12 engine can charge that battery pack in just six minutes.

The total power output now stands at 1,015 hp. Lamborghini Revuelto has a top speed of over 350 kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds.

Pure Combustion Lamborghini Urus:

The Lambo chief expects the Revuelto hybrid supercar to be sold by 2025.

The pure combustion engine models are sold out by the end of production, as the carmaker moves towards a hybrid-only line-up, reports Lamborghini WELT newspaper.

Order books for the Huracan and Urus are full, Lamborghini Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann said, as production of the pure combustion engine vehicle has ended.

Lamborghini announced last July that it would invest at least 1.8 billion euros (US$2 billion) in its hybrid line-up by 2024, and would use that investment to bring out its full-electric models by the end of the decade. Will increase

Winkelmann told WELT that the combustion-engine model will be replaced by a plug-in hybrid in 2024 and 2025, and he said he expects the hybrid Revuelto to be sold by the end of 2025. The carmaker saw record sales last year and was targeting “very good results” this year as well, he said.
