Vehicle sales to decline by 8.89% in September 2024, two-wheeler and private vehicle segments most affected

Vehicle Sales Report: Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released the sales report of vehicles sold across the country in September 2024. In this report, sales figures of two wheelers, three wheelers, private vehicles, commercial vehicles and tractors have been released. According to the report, there has been a decline in vehicle sales in September. A total of 17,23,330 units of vehicles have been sold during September 2024. Of these, two wheelers have sold the most. According to the report, despite the decline, the two-wheeler segment had the highest share. After this, sales of private vehicles took second place.

How many vehicles were sold in which segment?
According to FADA report, sales of two wheelers across the country stood at 12,04,259 units. Talking about personal vehicles, car sales stood at 2,75,681 units. The total figure of three-wheelers stood at 1,06,524 units, while sales of commercial vehicles reached 74,324 units. Whereas in the tractor segment, sales of 62,542 units were recorded.

According to the report, a decline of 8.89% has been recorded in the total vehicle sales on monthly basis, while on annual basis also a decline of about 9% was seen. The biggest decline was seen in the private vehicle segment, where a decline of 10.80% on monthly basis and 18.81% on annual basis was recorded.

September 2023 comparison
If we talk about September 2023, at that time a total of 18,91,499 units of vehicles were sold. 13,38,237 units were sold in the two-wheeler segment, 3,09,053 units in the personal vehicle segment, 1,05,478 units in the three-wheeler segment, 73,253 units in the commercial segment and 65,478 units in the tractor segment. This time a decline of 8.89% has been recorded compared to the year 2024.
