New Delhi. The craze of SUVs is increasing in the Indian market. Indian customers are getting more attracted to sub-compact SUV vehicles. The look and feel of these vehicles is like an SUV, but in terms of price they are as expensive as hatchbacks. In such a situation, customers get a car that gives the experience of an SUV at a lower price. Keeping in mind this demand of the customers, Maruti Suzuki launched the Franx sub-compact crossover SUV in April 2023, which is now making waves in the market.
Maruti Fronx is getting good response from customers in the Indian market. In the month of August, this SUV managed to make its place at the ninth position in the list of top-10 cars with the sale of 12,387 units. At the same time, its sales also increased by 2% as compared to April last year. Maruti Fronx offers as much space as a sub-compact SUV but its price is as much as that of a hatchback. Engine and Specifications
The Frontx gets two engine options, including a 1-liter turbo-petrol mild-hybrid engine producing 100 bhp of power and 148 Nm of torque and a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine producing 90 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The first engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox option, while the second engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option.

The mileage of Maruti Fronx is much better in manual petrol and CNG.

Features of Maruti Fronx
The company is selling Maruti Fronx in a total of six variants – Sigma, Delta, Delta +, Delta + (O), Zeta and Alpha. The CNG powertrain is available only in Sigma and Delta trims. Maruti Fronx is equipped with many new features. This SUV has a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, features like head-up display, cruise control, auto climate control and wireless phone charging are also available in it.
In terms of safety, it also has features like six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX anchors and ABS with EBD.
What is the price?
The company is offering it in three dual tone colours and seven monotone colours. The starting ex-showroom price of Maruti Fronx is Rs 7.51 lakh while the price of its top variant goes up to Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
In the Indian market, the Fronx competes directly with cars like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. Maruti is also working on an electric version of the Fronx and may announce it very soon.
