Indian government may save over ₹60,000 crore on crude oil imports in FY25

It is estimated that every US$1 fall in crude oil prices results in annual savings of approximately Rs 13,000 crore on India's import bill.

Crude oil price expectations for 2025 are muted, with prices near US$80. The dollar is predicted to remain below par, which could lead to gains. Ajay Kedia, Director, Kedia Advisory, said in an exclusive conversation with ANI that the Indian economy will remain sustainable till March 2025.

A large part of India's foreign exchange reserves is used to buy crude. With reduction in import bill, the Indian Rupee may experience appreciation against other major currencies.

Currently, the Indian Rupee is stable at 83.60 against the USD, while many other currencies in the developed world have seen significant declines.

Kedia said, “A fall in crude oil prices to US$75 per barrel will significantly benefit the Indian economy, leading to annual savings of US$15-18 billion on import bill, reduction in inflation and fiscal space for critical investments.” There will be scope.”

Petrol and diesel prices may reduce

In a move to expand the electric vehicle (EV) charging network in India, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Director Anant Ambani and bp CEO Murray Auchincloss inaugurated Jio-bp's 500th EV charging station at Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. The station will provide convenient EV charging for visitors to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Jio World Plaza and Jio World Convention Centre.

On this occasion, Jio-bp announced the completion of the installation of 5,000 EV charging points across India. Jio-bp's charging network has expanded rapidly in the last one year, growing from 1,300 to 5,000 charging points. 95% of the company's charging stations offer fast-charging, making it the fastest and most reliable EV charging network in the country.

Jio-bp has used high quality 480 KW chargers to reduce “range anxiety” among electric vehicle owners. These chargers offer a faster charging experience at malls, public parking, corporate parks, hotels and other key locations. Along with this, Jio-bp's advanced mobile application 'Jio-bp Pulse' makes the charging process even easier for EV owners.
