Another inline-four sportsbike is about to hit the market and take on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, and it comes from Cyclone, a premium sub-brand from Zongshen. Originally revealed as the RC680R prototype in 2023, new patent images from an intellectual property filing reveal it has evolved into the RC700, which keeps the same powertrain under a new chassis and more production-ready design.
The RC700 will compete with Honda's CBR600R and ZX-6R, and as such, the Cyclone aims to be a part of it. To this effect, the sportsbike wears a distinctly aggressive design with a mean looking front fascia featuring projector headlamps and twin air intakes with a huge set of winglets. The front cowl extends rearwards with sharp lines that form the side fairings and connect to the muscular fuel tank with deep knee recesses.
The rider sits on the upswept tail section, while the inline-four engine hangs below, only partially hidden. A dual exhaust manifold on the right adds more visual weight, as do the strong double-sided swingarm and huge rear disc.
What is the powertrain and hardware of the RC700?
The RC700 will draw its power from a 674cc inline-four engine that is inspired by the CBR650R engine.
The RC700 will draw its power from a 674 cc inline-four engine that appears to be largely inspired by the powerplant of the CBR650R, which is quite common among other Chinese four-cylinder motorcycles. However, apart from this, no other technical details are known. The engine is housed within a tubular steel frame mated to a cast aluminum swingarm. Radial mounted J to stop lightning in the motorcycle. Juan is expected to use braking callipers, which remain hidden behind aerodynamic covers.

Will we ever see the Cyclone RC700?
Cyclone has been teasing the idea of тАЛтАЛa four-cylinder sportsbike for quite some time now, but it is unclear whether this will be the final version to reach the markets or not. Or whether the plans will be completed or not. Its parent company is one of the major motorcycle manufacturers in China and is also a manufacturing partner for Piaggio. The Cyclone has still not reached the level of market penetration that CFMoto and QJMotor have achieved over the past few years, but the launch of the RC700 could become a key factor in its strategy to take on its larger rivals.

Amid increasing pollution in Delhi, Maruti Suzuki Victorious, Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet are now available with air purifiers for less than Rs 15 lakh.
Delhi's deteriorating Air Quality Index (AQI) has once again highlighted the importance of clean cabin air for passengers. With pollution levels increasing, car manufacturers have now started offering in-built air purifiers in affordable models to keep the journey safe and healthy.
These systems often come with an AQI display, which filters out harmful particles and provides real-time information about cabin air quality.
For buyers looking to balance budget and health, many cars priced below Rs 15 lakh now come with air purifiers, making them a viable option for urban families battling smog.

PM2.5 air filter is available in higher variants of Maruti Suzuki Victoris, like LXi variant. Its price starts from Rs 11.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The Victoris provides clean cabin air to the passengers, that too without putting much burden on the budget. By including this feature in select variants, Maruti has given buyers a practical option to deal with pollution, while also providing everyday reliability.
Skoda's Kushaq Onyx Edition, which is priced at Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom), comes with the brand's advanced 'Climatronic' air purifier system. Even the base variant, which starts at Rs 10.61 lakh, offers a good package of safety, comfort and technology. Kushaq is a combination of European design and practical features, making it an attractive option for those seeking premium air quality at an affordable price.
Hyundai Creta gets air purifier and AQI display in SX variant, which is priced at Rs 14.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers have three engine options: 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. With performance, comfort and advanced cabin health features, Creta remains one of the most popular SUVs in India.
AQI display air purifier is available in the Fearless variant of Tata's Nexon compact SUV, the price of which starts at Rs 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can choose between 1.2-litre turbo-petrol or 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. Nexon, known for its safety and modern design, now also guarantees cabin health, thereby further attracting urban families.
Kia Sonet is the most affordable option here, whose HTX variant is available for Rs 10.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia's Smart Pure Air system actively filters cabin air and provides real-time AQI feedback. Despite being compact, the feature-rich Sonet does not allow buyers to compromise on health or technology, making it a unique option in the sub-Rs 15 lakh price segment.

Cure for 'suffocating' air! These are the 5 coolest cars with inbuilt air purifier
New Delhi. Tata Motors has its eyes fixed on the premium market. The main attraction of the company's new electric vehicle lineup is now the Avinya brand, which will serve as the flagship offering after its launch late next year. The company plans to invest Rs 16,000 to 18,000 crore between financial years 2025 to 2030 to develop new products, platforms and support the growing electric ecosystem.
Also waiting for Sierra EV
The Sierra EV, which is due to arrive in early 2026, and the Punch EV, which is due to get a facelift soon, will act as a bridge between the mass-market and premium offerings of the Avinya series. Total sales of Nexon EV, Tiago EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV and Curve EV in India have crossed the 2.5 lakh units mark. Tata's electric range has played a key role in increasing volumes in the last five years, with the Nexon EV selling more than one lakh units. The first vehicle under the Avinya range will likely be an SUV or Sportback, followed by several other body styles.
Dealership and Digital Interface
Unlike the existing range, the company is preparing to adopt a blended sales approach for Tata Avinya models by combining physical dealerships and digital interfaces. Its rivals will be globally recognized electric models like Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Tesla Model Y and luxury entry-level EVs from German companies. Tata is being flexible in terms of technological development. The company has indicated that Avinya will not be limited to a single battery chemistry, but will also adopt options other than LFP in terms of range, safety, charging speed and packaging efficiency.
Target of 10 lakh charging points
Especially work is being done in areas like electrical architecture, safety systems and software integration. Tata aims to install 40,000 charging points under the open collaboration model by 2027. In the future plan, the company has set a vision to reach a total of ten lakh chargers including one lakh public charging points by the end of the decade.
Keep an eye on big market share
Tata says that more than 50 percent domestic value addition has been achieved at the Tier 3 supplier level, due to which the company is getting PLI benefits. Used EV batteries are also being used for renewable energy storage, thereby promoting the circular economy. At present, Tata Motors' EV market share is between 40 to 45 percent and the company is confident of taking it to 45 to 50 percent soon.
New Delhi. The Indian automobile industry witnessed a historic transformation in 2025, when Mahindra & Mahindra reached the second position in annual passenger vehicle sales. This achievement is a major breakthrough for the company, which has left behind Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors, which have been present in the market for a long time. Becoming the runner-up clearly shows Mahindra's growing hold in the market, which is due to its growing SUV range and strong consumer demand.
Data received from vehicle portal
According to data from the government's vehicle portal, Mahindra made record sales of 5.81 lakh units till December 25, 2025. With this figure, the Mumbai based SUV specialist left behind Tata Motors (5.52 lakh units) and Hyundai (5.50 lakh units). This is the first time that a domestic manufacturer, which focuses only on utility vehicles, has overtaken companies that sell a variety of vehicles like hatchbacks and sedans. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki retained its market leader crown with 17.50 lakh units.
How Mahindra reached number 2
Mahindra reaching number two was not a coincidence, but it is the result of a thoughtfully made product strategy, which gained momentum in the beginning of 2025. While legacy models like the Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic and Thar Rocks laid a strong foundation, the company's aggressive entry into the premium electric SUV segment gave it a decisive lead.
BE 6e and XEV 9e shine
Launched in early 2025, the BE 6e and XEV 9e together sold more than 38,000 units, giving Mahindra a major share in the Indian EV market. Their success justified Mahindra's big bet on INGLO electric architecture. Maintaining the same momentum, Mahindra launched the XEV 9S in November 2025, which is a flagship 7-seater electric SUV. Its price starts at Rs 19.95 lakh and it has features like 59-79 kWh battery option and triple-screen dashboard, which will further strengthen the company's position in 2026.
Tata Motors at number 3
Tata Motors secured the third position with 5.52 lakh units in 2025. The company made a tremendous comeback in the fourth quarter due to Curve and updated Nexon. Although Tata has a strong hold in the EV segment, the growth of internal combustion engine vehicles lagged behind Mahindra's double digit growth, which clearly shows the changing direction of the market. At the same time, Hyundai slipped to fourth place with sales of 5.50 lakh units in 2025.
Mahindra & Mahindra may launch facelift versions of Thar and Thar Rocks in 2026, which may get new features, mild design changes and engine options.
New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra seems to be preparing updates for its popular lifestyle off-road SUVs тАУ 3-door Thar and Thar Rocks. Both models have recently been spotted testing on Indian roads. Although, the official launch timeline of facelifted Thar and Thar Rocks has not been revealed yet, but it is expected that these vehicles can be launched in the middle or second half of 2026. Let us know what can be expected from the new 2026 Mahindra Thar and Thar Rocks facelift.
2026 Mahindra Thar Facelift тАУ What's new?
Spy images suggest that the 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift may get mild design changes and feature upgrades, which will be inspired by the Thar Rocks. At the front, the SUV can get a slightly changed grille and C-shaped DRLs with circular LED headlamps. The vehicle spotted testing featured 19-inch alloy wheels and a new LED tail lamp signature.
Talking about the features, it can get features like Level-2 ADAS (Autonomous Driving Assistance System), auto dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVM, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad and push-button start with keyless entry.
Mechanically, there are likely to be no major changes in the new 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift. As before, this SUV will come with 152bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 119bhp, 1.5L diesel and 132bhp, 2.2L diesel engine options. 4WD system can be available as standard with more powerful diesel engine.
2026 Mahindra Thar Rocks Facelift тАУ What's new? Not much information is currently available about the new 2026 Mahindra Thar Rocks facelift. However, it is believed that it may get a new powertrain option, possibly a 1.5L diesel. Currently, Thar Rocks is available in three engine options тАУ 162bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and 152bhp, 2.2L diesel engine.
Most of the features remain the same, including 10.2-inch fully digital instrument TFT screen, 10.2-inch free-standing infotainment system, auto dimming IRVM, rear AC vents, front and rear armrest, camera-based level-2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, traction control program, electronically locking rear differential, Crawl Smart Assist (CSA), Intelli Turn Assist (ITA) etc. are included. Only minor cosmetic changes can be seen in the updated Thar Rocks.

Renault's Filante Record 2025 demo car covered a range of 1,008 km on a single charge, showing how efficiency and aerodynamics can extend EV range.
Renault Filante 2025 records 1,008 km of single-charge efficiency during a certified run at the UTAC circuit in Morocco.
Renault has demonstrated what is possible when electric vehicle efficiency is pushed to its limits. The French carmaker's Filante Record 2025 demo car has completed a certified 1,008 km journey on a single charge, setting a new benchmark for energy consumption in EVs driven at sustained highway speeds.
The race was held at UTAC's test circuit in Morocco on 18 December. Contrary to claims of range achieved at low speeds or under laboratory conditions, Renault maintained an average speed of 102 km/h throughout the effort. The entire distance was covered in 9 hours 52 minutes.
Same battery, dramatically higher range
What makes the achievement unique is the hardware involved. The Filante Record 2025 uses an 87 kWh battery, the same capacity as the production Renault Scenic e-Tech Electric. Despite this, the demo car recorded an energy consumption figure of only 7.8 kWh per 100 km, which is much lower than most road-going EVs.
The battery did not drain completely even after driving more than 1,000 km. Renault confirmed that 11 percent charge remained at the end of the test, theoretically enough to last for 120 km when traveling at speeds above 100 km/h.
weight and airflow
Instead of increasing battery size, Renault focused on reducing losses. The Filante Record 2025 weighs just 1,000 kilograms, a figure made possible through the extensive use of carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum parts, many of which were produced using 3D printing.
Aerodynamics were equally important. Wind tunnel development allowed Renault to reduce the car's drag coefficient from approximately 0.40 to 0.30. Changes included enclosed wheel fairings and smaller air intakes, intended to reduce resistance at high speeds.
Also Read: New Renault Duster teased ahead of January 26 launch; what to expect
A rolling technology was tested
Beyond efficiency, the Filante Record 2025 also serves as a technology demonstrator. It features steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, eliminating conventional mechanical linkage. Michelin developed custom low-rolling-resistance tires for the project, while Ligier handled the powertrain, chassis and carbon structure.
Lessons for future EVs
Renault says the project reinforces an important message for the electric age: meaningful gains in real-world range can be achieved through intelligent design, lightweight construction and improved aerodynamics, rather than simply fitting larger batteries. While the Filante Record is not due for 2025 production, its engineering principles are expected to influence future Renault electric vehicles.

Now let us know about the new engine in Safari. Along with the diesel engine, now the Safari will also get a new 1.5-litre TGDi engine (168bhp and 280Nm). This engine comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. How is the Safari Patrol driving? In one word тАУ relaxing. The power delivery of the engine may be linear, but it picks up speed quickly. Its refinement is also quite good. However, at high acceleration the engine is a bit noisy and slight vibration is also felt.
But is it just the new engine that makes the Safari special?
It's not like that. Safari has been a great SUV even with diesel engine. The biggest reason for this is the OMEGA architecture тАУ which is taken from the Land Rover D8 platform. This platform gives Safari a smooth and relaxed driving experience.
Tata Safari Petrol Features тАУ Launch and Price
Tata Motors has not yet disclosed the price of Safari petrol. It is expected that its price will be announced in January 2026. It is believed that Tata Motors can launch it at a very attractive price.

Grand Vitara sales were quite good until the arrival of Victoris. Victoris ate into the market share of the Grand Vitara. Victoris was priced lower and its top variant had more features. However, both the cars are built on the same platform and powertrain. Grand Vitara is also considered better in appearance. ADAS and smart tailgate are not available in its top variant, but the rest of the features are almost the same. Since Victoris is a new car, its sales are expected to be high. However, now Maruti is trying to increase the sales of Grand Vitara. Benefits worth more than Rs 2 lakh are being given on Grand Vitara.
Smart Hybrid тАУ up to Rs 1.85 lakh
AWD тАУ up to Rs 2.4 lakh
Strong Hybrid тАУ up to Rs 2.4 lakh
WagonR
WagonR is the best selling car of Maruti. You can get benefits up to Rs 58,000 on this. This includes a cash discount of Rs 30,000 and a corporate discount of Rs 3,000. Alto, Celerio and S-Presso
Because of WagonR, these cars often get ignored. Maruti has given a huge discount of Rs 52,000 to attract customers. This includes exchange/scraping, corporate and cash discounts. These cars are already the cheapest in the market and this discount makes them even more affordable. This means you can buy the base S-Presso and Alto for less than Rs 4 lakh (on-road). Alto's fleet variant H3 Tour gets a discount of up to Rs 60,000.
Swift and Swift Dzire
Dzire is currently one of the best selling cars and is the only sedan from Maruti. Maruti has given a cash discount of Rs 10,000 and a corporate discount of Rs 2,500 on it. Dzire would have sold well even without the discount, but Maruti has still given the discount. Tour S (Dzire) gets a discount of up to Rs 35,000 (Rs 10,000 discount on CNG variants). There is a discount of up to Rs 55,000 on Swift, which includes cash benefit of Rs 25,000, scrapping bonus of Rs 25,000 (or exchange bonus of Rs 15,000) and corporate bonus.
