This figure shows an annual increase of 48.4% (average growth) compared to the total 59,390 units sold in May 2025.

If we look at the sales report, Mahindra Scorpio was the best selling SUV in its segment last month. Whereas Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Victoris have got a lot of customers. Mahindra Scorpio/N

Hyundai Motor is preparing the fourth generation of its popular premium hatchback i20, which is going to be launched later this year. The recently released teaser image shows the front end of the new i20, which looks quite sportier and modern. The new car has been provided with Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), which look like the Lamborghini Revello. The combination of full-width LED bar and rectangular headlamps makes it premium and attractive.

Spotted on test mules many times before, this car has adopted angular design language, which looks bolder and boxier than the current model. It is expected that the sub-4 meter length will be maintained in India so that tax benefits can be availed. The new i20 has been designed keeping in mind the preferences of young customers, which has a perfect combination of sportiness and practicality.

Design and interior

The new Tiago Smart does not look basic at all. It gets a facelifted new front look, body-coloured bumpers and attractive LED tail lamps. The Cosmo grain textured wheel arch cladding gives it a slightly rugged and premium touch. Although there are halogen headlamps and steel wheels, the upper variants get LED DRLs and alloy wheels. Overall, it has a simple yet attractive and durable look.

The cabin has a new steering wheel, redesigned dashboard and Fabricia Lux trim. The front seats have premium fabric and under-thigh support, which provides comfort on long drives. The cabin is spacious and comfortable for five people.

Features and safety

The base variant is equipped with basic but useful features. It includes digital island instrument cluster, tilt adjustable steering, manual AC, satin chrome door handles and 12V power socket. However, touchscreen infotainment and steering mounted controls are limited to the upper variants.

Tata has given 6 airbags as standard even in the base variant, which is a much better offer in this segment. ABS with EBD, corner stability control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorage and three-point seatbelts are available on all seats. Engine and Mileage

Tiago Smart has a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. CNG option is also available, which is perfect for those saving running costs. The petrol variant gives good mileage in the city, while the CNG is even more economical. This car is known for easy driving and reliable performance.

Its mileage is around 20 KMPL in petrol and 28 KMPL in CNG. Overall, the new Tata Tiago Smart is a smart choice for buyers who want more value, safety and ease of daily use at a lower price.
