The Indian unit of luxury vehicle manufacturing company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said that in view of the possibility of implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), it has announced a reduction of up to Rs 75 lakh in the prices of Range Rover models manufactured in Britain. JLR India said the main beneficiaries of the price cut for vehicles coming to India as fully built units will be the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models.
Now what will be the price of both the cars? After this deduction, the starting showroom price of Range Rover SV model has reduced from Rs 4.25 crore to Rs 3.5 crore. Apart from this, the price of Range Rover Sport SV model has been reduced from Rs 2.75 crore to Rs 2.35 crore. The Tata Group-controlled company said that the revised prices reflect the new duty structure under the FTA and will be applicable with immediate effect.
Company expects sales to increase JLR India Managing Director Rajan Amba said that amidst the expectation of implementation of India-UK FTA, we are committed to providing its benefits to our customers. The new prices reflect our approach of putting the customer first and commitment to building long-term relationships. However, the company clarified that this FTA will have no impact on the prices of locally manufactured models in India such as Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar and Discovery Sport.
The prices of these models will not decrease The company has said that some of its models are not made in Britain. Therefore, the rules of India-UK Free Trade Agreement will not be applicable on them and their prices will remain at the old level in the Indian market. The company said that the prices of its models like Defender and Discovery will remain at their old level. Both these models are produced in Slovakia, due to which they will remain out of the scope of FTA.

The starting price of the flagship Range Rover SV has now come down from ₹ 4.25 crore to ₹ 3.50 crore (ex-showroom), which means a saving of ₹ 75 lakh. Also, the price of Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two has reduced from ₹ 2.75 crore to ₹ 2.35 crore. Its price has also been reduced by ₹ 40 lakh.
Apart from this, a new base Sport SV variant has also been launched for ₹ 2.05 crore. This reduction is a direct benefit of the reduced duty on CBU models imported from the UK (from 110% to around 30% in the first year). नई दिल्ली: प्रीमियमीकरण भारत के इलेक्ट्रिक यात्री वाहन बाजार को चला रहा है, कार निर्माता नए लॉन्च के साथ मध्यम आकार और उच्च-अंत खंडों पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहे हैं, भले ही बड़े पैमाने पर अपनाने की सीमा सीमित है।
जाटो डायनेमिक्स के अनुसार, कुल इलेक्ट्रिक कारों की बिक्री में ₹20-30 लाख के बीच कीमत वाले मॉडलों की हिस्सेदारी पिछले वित्त वर्ष में चार गुना से अधिक बढ़कर 26.4 प्रतिशत हो गई, जो दो साल पहले 6.2 प्रतिशत थी, जबकि ₹30 लाख से अधिक कीमत वाली कारों की हिस्सेदारी दोगुनी से अधिक होकर 14.2 प्रतिशत हो गई।
जाटो डायनेमिक्स के अध्यक्ष रवि भाटिया ने कहा, “उत्पाद की उपलब्धता और उपभोक्ता की तैयारी वर्तमान में ₹20 लाख से अधिक के दायरे में है – बेहतर रेंज, बेहतर सुविधाएँ, खरीदार अग्रिम लागत के प्रति कम संवेदनशील हैं।” “यही वह जगह है जहां निर्माताओं ने ध्यान केंद्रित किया। यही वह जगह है जहां बाजार आगे बढ़ा।”

जेएसडब्ल्यू एमजी मोटर ने भी एम9 एमपीवी और साइबरस्टर इलेक्ट्रिक रोडस्टर के साथ अपने पोर्टफोलियो का विस्तार किया है, दोनों की कीमत 60 लाख रुपये से अधिक है और यह अपने नए एमजी सिलेक्ट प्रीमियम नेटवर्क के माध्यम से खुदरा बिक्री करती है। भाटिया ने कहा, “भारत का ईवी बाजार नीचे की ओर बढ़ने से पहले ऊपर की ओर बढ़ रहा है, जो संभावित रूप से ईवी बाजार को छोटा रख सकता है।”
₹10 लाख से कम कीमत वाली इलेक्ट्रिक कारों की हिस्सेदारी वित्त वर्ष 2026 में आधी से भी अधिक घटकर 6.9 प्रतिशत हो गई, जो वित्त वर्ष 24 में 18.5 प्रतिशत थी, जबकि ₹10-20 लाख के बीच की कीमत वाली कारें 69 प्रतिशत से गिरकर 52.5 प्रतिशत हो गईं।

मजबूत मांग
ईवी की पहुंच महज 4.2 फीसदी रही.
₹40 लाख से अधिक कीमत वाले लक्जरी सेगमेंट में, ईवी की मांग पिछले दो वर्षों में दोगुनी होकर वित्त वर्ष 2026 में लगभग 5,400 इकाई हो गई।
मर्सिडीज बेंज इंडिया के प्रबंध निदेशक संतोष अय्यर ने कहा कि बाजार के ऊपरी स्तर पर इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों की मांग मजबूत बनी हुई है।
“हमारे पोर्टफोलियो के शीर्ष पर (कीमतें ₹1.4 करोड़ से शुरू होती हैं), ईवी की पहुंच 20 प्रतिशत है,” उन्होंने कहा, कंपनी ने 24 अप्रैल को लॉन्च से पहले आवंटित ₹55 लाख से अधिक कीमत वाली सीएलए बीईवी की सभी 400 इकाइयां बेच दीं।
अय्यर ने कहा कि कंपनी जुलाई में वाहन के लिए बुकिंग फिर से शुरू करेगी।

मारुति सुजुकी इंडिया वरिष्ठ कार्यकारी अधिकारी, विपणन एवं बिक्री, पार्थो बनर्जी ने पीटीआई-भाषा को बताया कि हालांकि कंपनी की बाजार हिस्सेदारी में वृद्धि उसकी यात्री कारों के कारण हुई है, लेकिन एसयूवी ने भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।
