Toyota Land Cruiser FJ banned in foreign countries before its launch in India, this is the reason

New Delhi. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ has left no stone unturned in attracting people's attention. It was revealed about a week before the Japan Mobility Show and immediately became popular as the entry-level model of the global Land Cruiser lineup. This model was so popular during the show that it became difficult to even see it properly during the press days. Toyota has kept its design simple and functional, which will appeal to those who miss the discontinued FJ Cruiser.

Ban in America
But just because everyone wants to take a closer look, doesn't mean everyone will be able to buy it. The compact off-roader is already unavailable in the US and Europe, and now Australia – a major SUV market for Toyota – has also been put on the 'no-fly' list for the Land Cruiser FJ.

Australia closed the door
According to CarExpert, Toyota Australia currently has no plans to launch the Land Cruiser FJ in its current form. The brand's sales, marketing and franchise operations chief Sean Hanley said that the issue is not about price or positioning, but about emissions compliance. The 2.7-litre petrol engine used in the FJ does not meet Australia's Euro 6 emissions regulations. Haley clearly said that this car was made mainly for Asian markets, where the rules are a little less strict. For this reason he said that in the current specification the FJ is a 'no-go zone' for Australia.

engine
Old engine, new rules The reason for the limited availability of the Land Cruiser FJ is its 2TR-FE 2.7-litre petrol engine. This four-cylinder engine has been used in many generations of Toyota models like Hilux Surf, Tacoma, Innova, Fortuner, Hiace and Prado. But now times have changed. Some of these models have now been discontinued and this engine is also no longer made according to the strict emission standards that are required in countries like America, Europe and Australia. This is why FJ is out of these markets.

circumstances may change
Still, there is hope that the situation may change if Toyota gives the FJ a new, cleaner engine. According to Haley, the arrival of Euro 6 compliant powertrain could open the way for those markets which have currently kept it out. For now, the Land Cruiser FJ will remain outside the borders of countries where emission regulations are more stringent.

Harrier and Safari will be launched with the same engine which gave Sierra a mileage of 29.9 km.

Harrier and Safari will be launched with the same engine which gave Sierra a mileage of 29.9 km.

Last Updated:

Tata Motors will soon launch petrol variants of Tata Harrier and Safari, which will have Hyperion 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. These models will now be more competitive. The same Hyperion 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine achieved a mileage of 29.9 km per liter on the Indore track. Now the company is preparing to boost the set of Harrier and Safari on the basis of this engine.

New Delhi. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has planned many new launches in the coming times. Among these new products, the company is also going to introduce petrol variants, in which the most discussion is about petrol variants of Tata Harrier and Safari SUV. Till now both these models were available in the country only with diesel engines, in which both manual and automatic transmission options were available.

1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine
Tata Safari and Harrier can be given a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which the company has named 'Hyperion'. This engine was introduced for the first time at Auto Expo 2023. This engine can come with dual-clutch or torque converter automatic transmission. It is expected that this engine will give power of 170 HP and torque of 280 Nm. More information will be given on November 25 during the launch of Tata Sierra with this engine.

Power and Performance
Additionally, the launch of turbo petrol engines could further increase the competitiveness of these SUVs, as most rivals in this segment offer both petrol and diesel options. Also, this may also reduce the prices of both the SUVs. Currently, Harrier and Safari are available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which generates 167 hp power and 350 Nm peak torque. This engine comes with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Currently, the starting price of Safari is Rs 14.66 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price of Harrier starts at Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).

compete with them
The Harrier competes with models like the Jeep Compass and MG Hector in the Indian market, while the three-row Safari takes on SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and Jeep Meridian. Tata Sierra recently achieved a mileage of 29.9kmpl on Entrax in Indore with its Hyperion engine. After which this car was discussed a lot in the market. Now this powerful mileage engine is going to be available in Safari and Harrier, which will give better options to the buyers. Tata Safari and Tata Harrier are already popular SUV models in their segment.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris shook the market, sold more than 30,000 cars as soon as it was launched.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris shook the market, sold more than 30,000 cars as soon as it was launched.

Last Updated:

Maruti Suzuki's Victoris overtakes Grand Vitara by selling 30,000 units in three months after its launch in September 2025, is available in petrol, CNG and hybrid variants. The company sells Victoris under Arena dealership so that it can be made available to more customers.

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki's new offering in the premium mid-size SUV segment, Victoris, has crossed the sales mark of 30,000 units in just over two months of its launch. This SUV was launched in late September 2025 and by the end of November, about 30,057 units have been sold. This is a new name in the range of Rs 12 to 18 lakh, where customers usually first look towards Hyundai or Kia. Sharp growth from September to November Monthly data shows that there has been a steady increase in sales since the launch. Deliveries partially began in September, with 4,261 units sold. Victoris sales increased to 13,496 units in October. 12,300 units were sold in November, which is slightly less than October, but still a strong pace, especially considering the model has only been on the market for a few weeks.

Crossed the mark of 30,000 units
If we add the figures of all three months the picture is clear. Victoris quickly achieved five-figure monthly volumes since its launch and crossed the 30,000 mark by the end of November. Comparison with Maruti's own Grand Vitara: One special thing in the October figures was that Victoris even left behind Maruti Suzuki's own Grand Vitara. In October, 10,409 units of Grand Vitara were sold, while 13,496 units of Victories were sold.

More reach than Grand Vitara
What's working for the Victoris The reach of the Victoris is greater than the Grand Vitara as it is being sold through Arena dealerships. It has been presented as a slightly more premium and technology-equipped option than the Grand Vitara, especially in the lower and mid-price range. The specialty of this vehicle lies in its modern design and advanced safety features.

Range of powertrain options
Another big feature is its range of powertrain options. Victoris is available in petrol, CNG and strong hybrid variants. This makes the model attractive to different types of customers – whether they want an economical car or a high mileage daily use car. Looking at the pace of sales, it is clear that Victoris is becoming popular among many types of customers, not just because of one variant.

When the Hyundai Verna entered its sixth generation with the facelift, it was one of the first cars in India to adopt full-width LED lightbars for its DRLs and featured the sharp lines and outlines that underpin every new model from the South Korean carmaker. The mid-size sedan is now due for a mid-cycle update, and its test mule has once again been spotted on Korean roads. The upcoming iteration was seen with camouflage hiding its front and rear fascia, suggesting a facelift for the 2026 model year.

Otherwise, Hyundai's updates for the facelift are expected to largely focus on the front and rear of the sedan. These are likely to result in a more attractive design for the updated front grille and bumper. The car is expected to retain its split LED headlamp design with full-width LED DRLs, while the lighting signature will potentially be updated for renewed appeal among buyers in the segment.

The rear will also be updated, with the test mule speculating about updated taillamps and a revised rear bumper. With this, the new Verna is expected to bring a facelift for the upcoming model year, while retaining its overall sleek silhouette that has played a major role in gaining appeal among sedan buyers in India. It is expected that this car will come with a new alloy wheel design which will differentiate itself from the existing model.

What are the interior changes expected in the Hyundai Verna facelift?

Most facelifts these days bring feature and interior upgrades rather than just focusing on design, and the same is likely to be the case with the Verna facelift. It is expected to bring new upholstery options and a revised interior trim, as well as an updated list of creature comforts. The overall dashboard layout will likely be retained on the upcoming iteration, with the dual-screen display likely to feature updated software and graphics.

As a result, the Verna facelift will continue to be offered with either a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The naturally aspirated unit produces 113 bhp and 143.8 Nm, while the latter produces 160 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a CVT gearbox and a 7-speed DCT.

Get ready! Tata Sierra may be launched soon with 7 seater layout

Get ready! Tata Sierra may be launched soon with 7 seater layout

New Delhi. Since its launch, the magic of Tata Sierra has been spreading across the country. What a great SUV, with tons of features, great design and good space for passengers! But do you know that we may soon see a new 7-seater Sierra? Are you surprised? Know all the information related to this here –

Tata Sierra 7-Seater – Is it really coming or just a rumour?
The magic that Tata had expected from Curvv last year, has now been achieved by Sierra. And a large part of this popularity also goes to the new platform Argos. For this reason, a good amount of space has been available in Sierra. For example, the recently launched Kia Seltos is longer than the Sierra, but the wheelbase of the Sierra is longer than that of the Seltos. This provides good space inside, giving more comfort to the rear seat occupants. Well, we have talked about the features of Sierra, now let us look at the 7-seater Tata.

Length up to 4.6 meters
In fact, all the features of Sierra were told to make you understand about the new platform. This new platform is designed for cars with length of 4.3 meters to 4.6 meters. And soon a 7-seater based on this platform is also expected to be launched. However, it is not clear whether the 7-seater will be based on Sierra or will come with a new name.

Upcoming 7-Seater – What to Expect
The brand has given an Easter egg in the launch of Sierra, which hints at the new 7-seater. If all goes well, the new 7-seater will be placed below the Safari and above the Sierra in Tata's lineup. Its dimensions can be like Sierra or more space can be given for the third row passengers.

design language
The design language will be similar to other modern Tata cars, but everything is under wraps as of now. Talking about the features, the same features as Sierra can be found in this 7-seater also. This will include triple screen layout, ADAS level 2+, 6 airbags as standard, AR HUD, wireless connected car tech, wireless charging, FDD, powered tailgate and much more. Apart from this, the SUV will also be provided with separate AC vents for the third row and some other features for the convenience of the passengers.

This SUV, which was launched 34 years ago, created a ruckus, then had to be discontinued, this was the reason

This SUV, which was launched 34 years ago, created a ruckus, then had to be discontinued, this was the reason

New Delhi. Everyone is excited about the recently launched 2025 Tata Sierra. Do you know that this legendary SUV was India's first SUV? Some vehicles were way ahead of their time and could not attract people's attention. Tata Sierra is the best example of this. In 1991, when Indians did not know much about SUVs, Tata introduced India's first premium Indian SUV. Before the Sierra, Tata was known for its commercial vehicles; Sierra was his first passenger car. Find out why the 1991 Sierra was way ahead of its time.

New design for Indians
The design of Tata Sierra was new for Indians. Its unique design was three-door, with large rear windows curved towards the roof. The Sierra was one of the boldest looking vehicles of 1991. The ladder-on-frame chassis of the Tata Sierra was taken from the Telcoline pickup truck, which increased its size.

India's first premium SUV
Tata Sierra was the first premium SUV in the Indian market. Sierra introduced many such features, which were seen for the first time not only in this segment but in the Indian automobile industry. The Sierra's interiors had features like power windows, power steering, tilt adjustment for the steering, central air conditioning and central locking. Also, the large rear window and vintage sofa-like rear seat provided a great experience to the rear passengers. The Sierra came with two rear windshield wipers, which are not found in many modern vehicles; This was necessary given the large rear windshield.

equipped with diesel engine
While in 1991, other big companies were selling only passenger vehicles with petrol engines, the Sierra came with a diesel engine. Tata launched Sierra with a 2 liter naturally aspirated diesel engine, which gave 63 HP power and 120 Nm torque. Rear-wheel drive was standard on the Sierra and 4×4 was optional. The 4×4 powertrain layout with the diesel engine was a revolutionary feature in the 90s. Tata provided the Sierra with a unique dog-leg 5-speed gearbox, with first gear placed on the lower-left instead of the traditional H-pattern.

Turbocharged engine launched in 1997
Later in 1997, Tata launched a turbocharged version of the Sierra, which produced 89 hp power and 190 Nm torque. This version came with an H-pattern gearbox, which further improved the driving experience of the Sierra. The three-door design of the Tata Sierra in 1991 was not very useful for Indian families. Moreover, its starting price was Rs 5 lakh (on-road Mumbai), which reached Rs 8 lakh (on-road Mumbai) in the late 90s. In its initial years, Tata Sierra had to compete with popular Maruti vehicles like Maruti 800, Omni and Gypsy. Maruti cars were cheaper and looked more practical according to the Indian budget. Later Mahindra also launched Armada, which had the same engine as Sierra but was priced lower. In 2002, Mahindra Scorpio gave tough competition to Sierra.

Had to shut down in 2003
The Tata Sierra was in the market from 1991 to 2003; Only 667 units were sold in 1991 and sales reached 3,910 units in 1994–95. After this there was a decline in sales. Due to low sales, Tata shifted its focus to other vehicles. This was the reason why this revolutionary Indian SUV remained out of the public eye.

But the question is, which car should be bought in a budget of Rs 10 lakh? To help you, we have prepared a list of the most popular cars selling under Rs 10 lakh.

Whereas, the top-spec Alpha variant is available with MT for Rs 9.73 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Wagon R
One of the most common and popular hatchback cars in India is the Wagon R. It stood at number 9 with 14,619 units sold in November. People in India like Wagon R for its affordability and reliability. This is also the cheapest car in the list, whose on-road price in Mumbai ranges between Rs 5.85 lakh to Rs 8.18 lakh. That means if your budget is Rs 10 lakh, you can buy the top-spec Wagon R and still save more than Rs 1.50 lakh. It has basic but essential features and the cabin is also quite spacious and comfortable.

tata punch
Punch is one of the most affordable and best selling SUVs of Tata. In November 2025, Tata sold 18,753 units of Punch, making it fourth in the best-seller list. Punch has proved to be a very profitable product for Tata and many buyers have chosen it for its safety, features and affordable price. It is available in both CNG and EV, with three powertrain options available – petrol, EV and CNG. Under Rs 10 lakh, you can buy the top-spec Punch, Creative Plus AMT or Creative Plus Camo Edition MT, both for Rs 9.99 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This SUV has proven to be very reliable and has stood the test of time. Therefore this is a great option to buy.

Maruti Swift
One of India's most favorite hatchback cars is Maruti Swift. Swift has been one of Maruti's most successful cars since its launch in 2005. Swift, which ranked third in the list of best-selling cars in November 2025, sold 19,733 units. This shows how much Indian people love Swift and its heritage. You can buy ZXi Plus dual tone variant of Swift for Rs 9.82 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And like every Maruti, Swift is also reliable and has very low running costs. The CNG variant adds to its charm, allowing mileage-seeking buyers to buy a sporty looking hatchback without any compromise. Now you might be wondering, which car is number one in this list? Is that also from Maruti?

Maruti Dezire
Dezire secured the second position in the list of best-selling cars in India with sales of 21,082 units in November 2025. This compact sedan consistently remains in the best-selling lists because it is economical and reliable. But the most important thing is that now it is safer than before. Earlier, Maruti had to face criticism for safety, but now the company has introduced its safest car, so that more Indian buyers can trust Maruti. Dzire has always been a great sedan with good features, excellent mileage and low running costs. But now by adding more features and making the car safer, Maruti has further strengthened its place in the best-seller list. For around Rs 9.62 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), you will get the ZXI variant, which has good features. If you want to get the top-spec variant, then its price is around Rs 10.41 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And to be honest, this is still a bargain that gives you full value for money.

If you want to buy a car, then hurry up, the cars of this company are going to become expensive from January 1.

New Delhi. Mercedes-Benz has announced an increase of up to 2 percent in the prices of all its model ranges. The new prices of these models will be applicable from January 1, 2026. The company has taken this step due to the current economic conditions affecting the luxury car market. The automaker cited “continued volatility, rising input costs and persistent logistics challenges” as the reasons for the price increase.

Effect of Euro-INR exchange
Additionally, the company has claimed that the Euro-INR exchange rate will remain above Rs 100 throughout 2025, which is higher than the historical average. This impacts the cost of imported components used in local assembly and completely built units (CBUs). Due to this the total operational cost of the company has increased. The brand further said that Mercedes-Benz India has largely managed these increases through its localization strategy, but selective adjustments have become necessary to keep the business sustainable.

rising input costs
Commenting on the issue, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Currency challenges have persisted longer than we expected this year, with the euro consistently trading above Rs 100. This prolonged volatility impacts every part of our operations, be it imported components or fully fledged units for local production. Additionally, due to rising input costs, logistics expenses and inflation, our “The total operational costs have increased significantly.”

He further said, “Due to the continuous reduction in repo rate by RBI, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is able to pass this benefit to the customers, due to which the impact of increase in prices is reduced to a great extent.” The amount of price change will vary depending on the model. Especially in models which are more dependent on imports, more changes will be seen. Locally produced vehicles benefit from the company's Chakan facility. This facility is part of the global production network of Mercedes-Benz.

company portfolio
The models in the company's portfolio in India include the A-Class, C-Class, E-Class Long Wheelbase, S-Class and the Mercedes-Maybach S 580. Electric vehicles manufactured here include EQS 580 sedan and EQS SUV 450. Imported CBUs include the G 450d, GLS Maybach and AMG models (ranging from A 45 S to GT 63 S E-Performance). The BEV lineup also includes the EQA 250, EQB SUVs, EQE 500 4MATIC SUV, Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV and G 580 with EQ technology.

To achieve the cleanest possible launch, the brakes were held while revs built up before releasing, a standard procedure in controlled acceleration testing. This allowed the turbo to rev up a little earlier. The vehicle was carrying two adults, one at the wheel and one pillion, each weighing around 60–70 kg. The fuel tank was filled to full capacity, increasing the total test load.
