Lexus has officially revealed the LFA Concept, confirming the return of its halo supercar nameplate, this time as a fully electric model. The concept was presented with the Toyota GR GT road car and GR GT3 race car.
The LFA Concept follows Toyota's “Shikinen Sengu” philosophy, which focuses on passing on core car-building techniques from one generation of engineers to the next. Lexus has clarified that the LFA name is no longer limited to internal combustion models. Instead, it now represents a vehicle that furthers the company's core engineering values, regardless of powertrain type.
How close is this concept to a production car?
Built around a high-stiffness all-aluminum structure shared with the GR GT and GR GT3, the LFA concept has been developed with three primary goals: low center of gravity, low weight with high structural rigidity, and advanced aerodynamics. The concept shares the same 2,725 mm wheelbase as the GR GT and is 1,195 mm long. It measures 4,690 mm in length and 2,040 mm in width, making it wider and slightly shorter than its combustion-powered brother. The layout remains strictly a two-seater. Lexus has not yet revealed powertrain specifications or performance outputs, but has confirmed that the LFA Concept is fully electric. A production version is still at least two years away, with the GR GT expected to reach showrooms first.
What's inside the cockpit?
The cabin is focused on what Lexus describes as an ideal driving position. A yoke-style steering wheel is designed to avoid hand twisting, allowing the driver to have a steady grip during cornering. The switchgear is grouped around the driver for intuitive blind-touch operation, while a large digital screen displays key driving data. The interior layout favors simplicity and functionality.
Where have we seen this car before?
First teased as the “Lexus Sport Concept” at Monterey Car Week and later at the Japan Mobility Show in 2025, the car is now back with its official LFA name. Lexus has also released preliminary specifications, offering a more concrete look at the concept as it moves toward final production.

As the pollution situation worsens across North India, we explain the role of car air purifiers, the filters they use and the key things buyers should know.

The smog season in Delhi-NCR often takes the AQI level to the red. For many travelers, wearing a mask and setting up a home purifier has become routine. But when you spend time in a car, often in traffic, near construction dust and exhaust fumes, the cabin may be exposed to fine particulate matter (PM2.5), exhaust gases, dust or allergens.
Regular cabin air filters help but often rely on simple paper or foam media, which can only trap larger dust or pollen. High-grade filtration like HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) in a dedicated car air purifier can capture very fine particles and reduce exposure to harmful pollutants during a drive.
How do they work and what to check
A “real” car air purifier typically combines these elements:
– A pre-filter (to catch larger dust and debris)
– A HEPA (or HEPA-grade) filter to trap fine particulate matter (PM2.5, smoke, pollen, fine dust)
– Often, an activated-carbon layer is used to absorb odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or exhaust gases.
Effectiveness largely depends on the quality of the filter and the “clean air delivery rate” (CADR), which is a measure of how much air the purifier processes per minute or hour. In a closed cabin, a compact purifier can make a more visible difference than in a large living room, as the air volume is smaller and limited.
Additionally, using the vehicle's air conditioning or ventilation system in “recirculation” mode helps, as this reduces the flow of polluted outside air while the purifier operates.

what the research shows
Studies on vehicle-cabin air quality show that air purifiers and proper filtration can reduce exposure substantially. Also, limitations exist: if the ride is very short, or if windows/doors are opened frequently, the purifier may not have enough time to meaningfully reduce pollution levels.
Cabin filters, even high-grade ones, are less effective at removing certain gases, such as carbon monoxide or some volatile organic compounds (VOCs), unless the purifier includes a good activated-carbon stage and the design accounts for sealing and air circulation.

Should you get one for the Delhi-NCR drive?
Given the serious air-quality problems in Delhi and surrounding North Indian areas, a good quality car purifier can be a worthwhile add-on, especially if:
– Your daily commute involves long periods of traffic, or
– You often travel when pollution is at its peak, or
– You or your passengers are sensitive to dust, allergies or respiratory problems.
Car-air purifiers, when selected and used correctly, provide meaningful protection against PM2.5, dust, smoke and allergens inside the vehicle cabin. In high pollution environments like Delhi-NCR during winter, they can reduce the risk associated with commuting to some extent. But they are not a silver bullet. Realizing their benefits require effective filtration, good air flow, disciplined use (windows closed, recirculation mode) and regular maintenance.

New Delhi. After a long wait, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the India-spec version of E Vitara in India. This first electric car of the company will be available in 49kWh and 61kWh variants in the country and it has got a range of up to 543 kilometers by ARAI. Bookings for the E Vitara will start soon and its launch is expected in early 2026. Maruti will also make this e-SUV available under subscription and battery-as-a-service (BaaS) schemes.
More than 2,000 charging points To charge the E Vitara, Maruti Suzuki has installed more than 2,000 charging points in more than 1,100 cities of the country. Additionally, the company has partnered with 13 charging point operators (CPOs) to provide customers with an even larger charging network. Maruti aims to create a network of more than 1 lakh charging points in collaboration with its dealers and CPOs by 2030. The company claims that a charger will be available every 5-10 kilometers, which can be accessed through the 'E for Me' app. Apart from this, Maruti has more than 1,500 EV-ready workshops, where service support and doorstep service will also be provided.
Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Powertrain and Trims This car will come in FWD setup with two battery pack options. Maruti Suzuki E Vitara will have two battery pack options of 49kWh and 61kWh, both of which will come with front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup. The range for the larger battery pack is rated by ARAI at 543 km. E Vitara will be available in three trims. The base trim Delta will get a 49kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha trims will get a larger battery pack. Maruti has also confirmed that the E Vitara has received a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP.

The wait is over! Maruti E Vitara launched in India, range of 543 km
New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki has announced that its upcoming E Vitara electric SUV can go from Delhi to Chandigarh on a single charge. ARAI certified range of 543 km has been given for its large battery pack. The company says that its nationwide network is already ready for electric vehicles, in which showrooms and service centers have been upgraded and more than 1,50,000 staff have been trained to operate electric vehicles. The e Vitara will be available with battery-as-a-service programs and subscription plans, as well as assured buyback plans.
Export to more than 100 countries The e Vitara has been introduced as a global electric SUV, which is made in India and is being exported to more than 100 countries. Exports began on September 1 from Pipavav Port in Gujarat, with more than 2,900 units being shipped to 12 major European markets in the month of August itself, including UK, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria and Belgium.
Dimensions The length of this SUV is 4,275 mm, width is 1,800 mm and height is 1,640 mm, while its wheelbase is 2,700 mm. It has a 3-in-1 electric drive system, in which the motor, inverter and transmission are integrated together. Customers can choose from two battery options: a 49kWh pack with a front motor producing 144hp and 189Nm, or a 61kWh pack with a more powerful 174hp, 189Nm motor. There will also be an AWD variant with a larger battery pack, which adds to the 65hp rear motor to give a total of 184hp and 300Nm, and its real-world range will be more than 500 km.
interior On the interior, the e Vitara features a premium digital cockpit with a twin-deck floating console, distinctive steering wheel, soft-touch dual-tone materials and multi-colour ambient lighting. Technology features include a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch driver display, wireless connectivity and Harmon-tuned audio system. For comfort, ventilated front seats, 10-way power driver seat and flexible 40:20:40 rear seat are provided, which have sliding, reclining and boot-access functions.
More than 50% high-tensile steel For safety, it has a structure of more than 50% high-tensile steel, which is supported by a special battery protection system. Standard features include seven airbags (including driver knee airbag), all-disc brakes, electronic parking brake, tire pressure monitoring system, e-call emergency assistance and Level 2 ADAS.
Home Charger and Installation Support Maruti Suzuki is also building a strong EV ecosystem. Every buyer will get a smart home charger and installation support, while the company plans to install public fast chargers every 5-10 km in the top 100 cities of the country in the next 2-3 years. Additionally, 1,500 EV-ready workshops will be set up in more than 1,000 cities to provide better after-sales service to the growing EV customer base.
