Tesla has opened its first Tesla Center in Gurugram, setting up a full-service hub as the brand steps up its electric mobility game for India. The facility is located at Orchid Business Park and will bring together retail operations, after-sales support, delivery services and charging infrastructure, all under one roof.

The launch also aligns with the company's broader push into the Indian market, which began with its formal entry earlier this year. Model Y, price from 59.89 lakh, now open for orders with home-charging support.

Deliveries of the Model Y are promised to be completed within a year. The SUV remains one of the world's best-selling cars and enjoys top global safety ratings.

Haryana positions itself as EV and tech hub

Inaugurating the centre, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini described the inauguration as a “proud moment” for Gurugram and highlighted the state's developed industrial landscape. He pointed to Haryana's growing economic contribution, which now accounts for 3.6 percent of India's GDP, and the significant increase in exports, which the state claims has led to growth. 70,000 crores 2.75 lakh crore in 2025.

Saini stressed on the state's growing role in mobile, automobile and agri-vehicle production as well as better connectivity through major road corridors and air links. He also cited efforts to reduce bureaucratic delays, set up a dedicated MSME department and support more than 12 lakh small industries.

Looking to the future, the Chief Minister said Haryana is preparing for future technologies, including an AI hub in Gurugram, a futuristic department and a plan to adopt deep-tech. Rs 2,000 crore fund to support start-ups. He said the government expects Tesla to set up associated manufacturing units in the state.

Tesla outlines its India roadmap

Sharad Agarwal, General Manager, Tesla India, highlighted that the Gurugram center is designed to integrate Tesla's offerings into the daily lives of Indian customers. The site features an experience space, Model Y test drive, V4 supercharger and after-sales care. Agarwal also confirmed that Tesla's charging network will expand rapidly across the region, aiming to ease EV adoption.

Visitors can explore the company's latest technologies, including the Optimus Gen 2 humanoid robot, which is also on display in Mumbai and Delhi, part of Tesla's effort to showcase advancements in AI and automation. The inauguration follows the establishment of experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi and initial charging points in both the cities.

Charging range is increasing in NCR

With the upcoming One Horizon site operational, Tesla will operate four charging stations in Gurugram and Delhi, offering 16 Superchargers and 10 destination chargers. According to the company, its V4 Supercharger can add up to 275 km of range in 15 minutes on the Model Y, enabling a straightforward plug-in, charge and go experience.

The Sierra comes with a powered driver seat with memory function, but the co-driver seat comes with manual adjustment. This is not a major drawback, but this feature is available in the Creta and it could have been included in the feature-loaded Sierra as well.

Another feature which is in Creta but not in Sierra тАУ Powered Boss Mode. With the amount of space available on the rear seat, Powered Boss Mode could have further enhanced the luxury experience. Although, Boss Mode is available in it, but it has to be done manually. We feel that this feature should have been there because Tata Motors itself introduced it with Safari in the affordable segment.

Tata Sierra is going to compete with Hyundai Creta in the Indian market.

New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a special edition of BE 6 electric SUV in India. It has been named Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition. This limited model is available in two variants тАУ FE2 and FE3 тАУ with a starting price of Rs 23.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Its booking will start from 14 January 2026, while the delivery will start from 14 February.

The BE 6 Formula E Edition has been given many design and feature upgrades compared to the standard BE 6. It is available in four color options тАУ Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White and Firestorm Orange.

Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition Design Highlights

In this special edition, most of the sporty upgrades have been made in the front and rear sections. The front has new circular LED projector headlamps, revised front and rear bumpers along with faux and silver bash plate. It also gets large 20-inch alloy wheels with new aero design. Other highlights include decals on the front quarter panels, black body cladding on the bumpers, fixed glass roof, 'Formula E-inspired 12-stripe graphic' on the bonnet and roof and exclusive Formula E badging.

Compared to the standard BE 6, this special edition gets a Firestorm Orange cabin theme, with Formula E logos on the seats and dashboard, FIA X Formula E Edition plates and FIA branding on the seat belts. To enhance its sporty appeal, exterior engine sounds and Formula E-inspired startup animations have also been provided. Since the BE 6 Formula E Edition is based on the top-end Pack Three trim, it gets all its features.

BE 6 Special Edition has a 79kWh battery pack, which comes with a rear-axle mounted electric motor. This setup gives power of 286bhp and torque of 380Nm. According to the company, it gives an ARAI range of 682km on a single charge.

Before Haryana, the title of most expensive number plate was held by a person from Kerala. In April this year, Venu Gopalakrishnan had bought the most expensive number plate till then by paying Rs 45.99 lakh. He had bought this number for his Lamborghini Urus. Gopalakrishnan's plate number was KL 07 DG 0007. Bidding for this number started from Rs 25,000. The most special thing about this number is the last 3 digits 0007. It reminds us of James Bond's 007 and makes it attractive among the people.

New Delhi. The dreams of the world's richest and successful man Elon Musk are facing a big challenge by coming to India. His e-vehicle manufacturing company Tesla had entered India in the month of July, but the performance so far in terms of sales has been very slow. Tesla's rival Chinese e-vehicle company BYD has performed strongly after entering India. Now Tesla has claimed that if Indian customers buy their car, they can save up to Rs 20 lakh in the next 4-5 years.

Tesla's General Manager (India) Sharad Aggarwal has said that the price of the company's entry level Model Y in India is around Rs 60 lakh. But, Indian customers buying it can save around Rs 20 lakh by saving fuel and maintenance. Besides, its resale value is also very good and the cost of charging at home is only 10 percent of that of petrol. Tesla has sold about 140 units in the Indian market since July.

Why is the car priced so high?
The price of Tesla's entry level model in India goes above Rs 60 lakh, which is almost 3 times more than the average price of Rs 22 lakh for most e-cars sold in the country. Even in America its price is about 70 percent less than in India. Despite the government encouraging e-vehicles, the share of electric vehicles in total car sales in the country is only 5 percent. The reason for this is the 100 percent tariff imposed on import of cars in the country, which Musk has also said is the highest in the world.

Demand for expensive e-cars is low
Bloomberg has said in its recent report that looking at the figures for the first half of the year 2025, it shows that only 2,800 e-cars priced between Rs 45 lakh to Rs 70 lakh have been sold. This shows that the market in which Tesla is looking for its place is still quite limited. On the other hand, China's rival company BYD has performed better by selling more than 1,200 units of Sealion 7 SUV in the first six months of this year.

Tesla's challenge is increasing
The challenges of American company Tesla in the Indian market will not end only with the price, but the tariff relief which Tesla was expecting from the trade agreement is also fading away. At present, the tariff on some models of cars in the Indian market has reached 110 percent and the path to a trade agreement with America is also not looking easy. Tesla was hoping to export cars from its German factory to India, but negotiations on a free trade agreement with the EU are still incomplete. If the company wants to reduce its prices, this is also not possible due to the ongoing turmoil in the global market. To further strengthen its strategy, the company has also handed over the leadership of Gurugram operations to Sharad Aggarwal, former head of Lamborghini India.

New Delhi. Kia will globally introduce the second-generation Seltos in South Korea and India in early December, which will be an entirely new model for one of its most important SUVs. The new Seltos is coming after 6 years, when its first version was launched globally in India. It will get a completely new exterior, new cabin and updated engine. However, buyers interested in the stronger hybrid version will have to wait a bit, as this variant is expected to be launched about a year after the petrol and diesel models.

More competition in compact SUV segment
By then, the new Seltos will face more competition in the compact SUV segment, which will also include new rivals like the next-gen Renault Duster and the Nissan Tekton.

Inspired by the Kia SUV, spy shots and teasers suggest that the second-gen Seltos will adopt a more upright and boxy stance than the current model. Its design is inspired by Kia's big SUVs like Telluride and EV9, which will have sharp lines, vertical LED daytime running lamps and connected light bars at the front and rear.

Redesigned bumpers
A new grille pattern, updated alloy wheel design and changed mirror housings complete its look. The new Seltos looks larger in size than the existing car, which can make the cabin more spacious and the boot space more useful.

New cabin layout and more features
Talking about the inside, the new Seltos will bring a big change in terms of design and quality. The dashboard will now have a more modern layout, with a large curved display that combines the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system, as seen in Kia's new models. Material quality and cabin insulation are expected to be better, which will increase refinement. The seats will also be more comfortable for long drives. Connectivity and safety features will also increase, although complete information about equipment, ADAS features and variant-wise features will be available only at the official launch.

Engine and Power
First the old engine, later the strong hybrid. At the time of launch, the second gen Seltos will only have the existing engine options. Buyers will get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 PS and 144 Nm), a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Manual gearboxes and several automatic options will also continue across different trims.

The biggest change to the powertrain line-up will be the addition of a strong hybrid, but that will come later. In this, a 1.5-liter petrol engine will be combined with an electric motor. According to reports, its combined output will be around 141 PS and 265 Nm, as is found in other hybrid models of Kia. Electric all-wheel drive system may also be available in some markets, but its chances are less in India.

price
Prices may increase compared to the current model, which currently ranges from Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 19.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices for the top-spec variants may go up due to the larger body, upgraded safety kit and hybrid technology, while Kia will try to keep the base petrol trims affordable to maintain volumes. The new Seltos will have to work harder than its older version, because now more options and frequent updates are coming in this segment. The two-stage rollout, with the standard version coming first and the hybrid later, will help Kia retain customer interest in the long run and improve its positioning against its rivals. Currently, the focus is on the global and local debut in early December, which will give the first official glimpse of the SUV, which will replace one of Kia's most successful models.

The Adventure variant comes with a 360-degree HD surround view monitor with 4SIGHT blind spot monitor, while the driver gets a 7-inch digital cluster. This variant brings a larger 12.29-inch infotainment and 10.23-inch digital cockpit along with ambient dashboard lighting, a cooled glovebox, rear seats with 2 stage recline and 60:40 split, rear armrest with cupholders, thigh support extenders and two 65W USB-C charging ports for the front row.

Tata Sierra will be available for booking from December 16, with deliveries starting from January 15, 2026.

The Accomplished takes it up a notch, adding Level-2 ADAS with 13 features, an AR-based head-up display, Dolby 5.1 surround sound with Dolby Atmos, and a 12-speaker JBL setup with a SonicShaft soundbar. It also includes leatherette upholstery with ventilated front row seats and a 6-way powered driver's seat. Ambient lighting units now also cover the center console, while the SUV is fitted with 19-inch alloys.

The car shown during testing had a CNG sticker on its rear windshield. It is expected that Maruti Suzuki can use underbody CNG tank layout in the new model of Brezza. Design – The profile and basic body of Brezza will remain the same. There may be slight changes in the rear taillights, while the alloy wheels will remain the same as the current model. The new model can also get a roof-mounted spoiler with a shark-fin antenna and integrated high-mounted stop lamp.

Safety – The Brezza is already updated with six airbags and other safety upgrades and will be based on the Global C platform, which has received a four-star GNCAP rating.
