New Delhi. After the GST 2.0 prices are implemented, motorcycle riders wishing to buy Royal Enfield are more confused than before. If your budget is slightly higher than Rs 2 lakh, then it would be right to take a Royal Enfield motorcycle – Classic 350 or new Meteor 350? Meteor 350, recently updated, came a few months later when the updated Classic 350 was introduced, including the new feature list and color palette.
Made on the J-series platform, most of the buyers often consider these two to be the same motorcycle which has a slightly different styling. However, shining chrome parts and glamorous colors have two completely separate motorcycles made for two different type riders-one is designed for a comfortable ride, while the other is designed for a long-range highway journey. Let's compare both once.
However, both are classic motorcycles, but both have some fine differences that different riders like. Classic 350 is completely about old memories, including iconic terdrop tanks, casket headlights (now updated with LED unit on premium trims), and deep fenders. Its color palette extends from basic single-tone redditch options to premium Chrome and Dark series.
Engine and performance
Both motorcycles share popular 349cc, air-cooled, long-stroke J-series engines. As a result, the performance figures are almost the same: 20.2 bhp @ 6100 rpm and 27 Nm peak torque @ 4000 rpm. However, the Meteor 350 is equipped with the new slip and assist clutch, which gives a very smooth gear shift on the 5-speed gearbox. Classic 350 still survives from slip-end-assistant clutch system. Therefore, riders on Classic 350 will have to work hard for gearbox.
Mileage
Both bikes give great mileage. There is a slight difference in mileage of both. Meteor 350 claims about 41.88 kmpl while Classic 350 has 41.55 kmpl.
