New Delhi. In view of the increasing popularity of CNG vehicles in India, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has emphasized on expanding its CNG options. The company says that the sales of CNG vehicles are continuously increasing in both urban and rural markets.

Hyundai currently offers CNG variants in three models – Grand i10 NIOS, Aura, and Exter. The share of CNG models in the company's domestic sales reached 11.4% in FY 2024, which was 9.1% in FY 2022. This figure increased to 12.8% between April and October 2024, while total domestic sales during this period stood at 3.54 lakh units.

He said, “This extensive network will further accelerate the demand for CNG vehicles, providing customers with a more affordable and environment-friendly alternative to the fuel.”

Hyundai introduced CNG Duo technology
Keeping in mind the needs of the customers, Hyundai has launched the Hy-CNG Duo system. It comes with dual cylinder technology, which not only provides better fuel efficiency but also solves the problem of lack of boot space. It has been included in Grand i10 NIOS and EXTER.

Tarun Garg said, “The aim of CNG Duo is to provide more mileage, boot space and safety to the customers. With its help, we have recorded the highest ever penetration of 14.9% in CNG models in October 2024.”

Hyundai's CNG Duo system comes with an advanced integrated ECU, allowing easy switching between petrol and CNG. Three years warranty with company-fitted CNG system further enhances customer confidence.

Big decision of Maruti! This car with 5-star rating will not run in taxis, know why the company took this step

Big decision of Maruti! This car with 5-star rating will not run in taxis, know why the company took this step

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki vehicles are known for their low price and excellent mileage. This is the reason why these cars are also very popular among taxi operators. Especially, Maruti Dezire was bought extensively as a taxi in the compact sedan segment. But, its effect was that the customers who wanted to take it for their personal use started staying away from it. In view of this, Maruti Suzuki has taken a big decision. The company has announced that the upcoming 5-star rated new Dezire will not be sold as a taxi.

The Tour S variant of Dzire is very popular among taxi operators. This variant is specifically designed for commercial use, with priority given to features that make it suitable for use as a taxi.

Will the Tour S variant be updated?
With the launch of the new Dezire, the question is arising whether the Dezire Tour S will also be updated or not. At present, this does not seem to be happening. It may take some time for the Desire Tour S to be upgraded to the fourth generation model. Till then this variant will remain available in the market along with its current third generation model.

The Tour S variant contributes significantly to the total sales of Dezire. According to the data, more than 1.65 lakh units of Dezire were sold in the financial year 2023-24, of which about 40% was of the Tour S variant.

Better safety features in new Dezire
The new Maruti Dezire has already been tested in the Global NCAP crash test, in which the car performed brilliantly. It has received 5-star rating for adult protection and 4-star rating for child protection.
– Adult Protection Score: 31.24 points out of 34
– Child Protection Score: 39.20 points out of 42

This is the first car from Maruti to achieve 5-star safety rating.

Big change in design
The design of the new Dezire is completely different from the old model. It has a large front grille, rectangular LED headlights, and redesigned fog lamps. Y-shaped LED taillights and chrome strip at the rear make its look even better. The top variant has 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED lights with DRLs. Its wheelbase is 2,450 mm and ground clearance is 163 mm, making it suitable for Indian roads.

Engine and powertrain
The new Dezire has a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine. This engine generates power of 82hp and torque of 112Nm. 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options are available in the vehicle.

This step of Maruti has been taken keeping in mind those customers who want to buy it for their personal use. The new Dezire has now become an even better option as a family sedan.

Bumper sales of 10 models of Maruti, but this sedan became a pain in the neck, the company could not sell even 700 units in a month.

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki has maintained its dominance in the Indian automobile market for decades. However, the month of October 2024 did not fully live up to the expectations for the country's largest car manufacturer. This month, the company sold 1,59,591 vehicles in the domestic market, which is 5% less than 1,68,407 units in October 2023 last year. Nevertheless, the company achieved a 10% growth in October sales compared to September 2024, which was possible due to the festive season.

Some of Maruti's cars performed well, while the company suffered losses due to low sales of some cars. Let us know how the sales of Maruti cars were in October 2024.

Ertiga became the best selling car
Ertiga's sales performance in October 2024 was excellent. This car became India's best selling car with sales of 18,785 units. Compared to last year, the sales of this model increased by 32%.

Maruti Swift was at second place with sales of 17,539 units. However, in the same month last year this figure was 20,598 units, which means Swift faced a decline of 15%.

Brezza, Frankos and Baleno occupied the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. Their sales also exceeded 16,000 units. At the same time, Grand Vitara registered an impressive 30% annual growth with sales of 14,083 units. Dezire, Wagon R and Eeco also managed to sell more than 10,000 units.

Performance of small cars remained lackluster
Talking about small cars, Maruti Alto, which was once considered the face of entry-level hatchbacks, sold only 8,548 units in October 2024. This figure is 24% less than last year. Models like Jimny and XL6 also suffered a setback. Jimny sales declined by 35% and XL6 declined by 25%. These sold 1,211 and 3,285 units respectively.

While sales of some cars declined, the Ignis achieved a growth of 12%. 2,663 units of this model were sold, which is more than last year. Due to decline in sales of Celerio and S-Presso, their combined sales came down to around 5,000 units. The Ciaz sedan, which has been in need of an upgrade for a long time, recorded sales of only 659 units. In the MPV segment, Invicto sales declined by 38% and only 296 units of this model were sold.

Sales decreased despite festive season
Even in a big festive season like Diwali, Maruti Suzuki did not get the performance that was expected. However, strong sales of models like Ertiga, Brezza, Franxx and Grand Vitara kept the situation afloat. Maruti Suzuki will have to bring new changes in its small cars and sedan segments so that it can better meet the market demand in the coming months.

Nissan in trouble! 9000 employees will be laid off, CEO will get 50% less salary

Nissan in trouble! 9000 employees will be laid off, CEO will get 50% less salary

New Delhi. Japan's third largest automobile company Nissan Motor Corp has decided to make major changes in its global operations. The company has announced the layoff of 9,000 employees and a 20 percent reduction in production capacity, so that it can regain its lost share in the electric and hybrid vehicle market. CEO Makoto Uchida will also take 50 percent less salary.

Nissan suffered a loss of 9.3 billion yen (about $60 million) in the September quarter, whereas the company had a profit of 190.7 billion yen in the same quarter a year ago. The company said that these restructuring steps have been taken after an income decline of 94% in the first half.

Will reduce stake in this company
Nissan has burned 448.3 billion euros (about $2.9 billion) of cash in recent months and now plans to sell some of its stake in Mitsubishi Motors Corp. The company's operating income fell 70% short of its forecast, while its revenue outlook was also cut by more than 9%.

Why did the company's problems increase?
Nissan President and CEO Makoto Uchida said that the purpose of these changes is to make the company more flexible and responsive to rapidly changing trends in the market. He said that along with external challenges, the company is also grappling with its own internal issues, including the growing presence of local companies in China and overly ambitious sales targets.

In China, companies like BYD have taken advantage of the surge in demand for electric vehicles, while in America the popularity of hybrid vehicles is increasing. Under these changes, Nissan will increase investment in its EV lineup in China and expand hybrid vehicles in the US. Additionally, the company has also decided to make production more efficient and cut costs by taking advantage of its partnership with Honda.

Through these major changes, Nissan aims to become more competitive in the global automotive market. However, Uchida acknowledged that the road to the future is not easy as the auto industry is undergoing rapid change.
