A few days back, Audi unveiled the much-awaited new-generation Q3 in India. Now, the German brand has officially opened bookings for the new SUV. The booking amount has been set at Rs 1 lakh. Set for an October launch in India, the Q3 will be assembled locally. It is also the first new-generation Audi model planned for India, with the new A5 and flagship Q9 expected to follow in 2027.
The Q3 has been an important model for Audi in India. It sits at the smaller end of the brand’s SUV range and competes with cars such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Audi Q3 booking details
Customers can book the new Q3 through three channels:
- Audi India official website
- myAudi Connect app
- Audi India authorised dealerships
The booking amount is Rs 1 lakh. Audi has not yet announced the full variant list and final prices. The new Q3 is expected to cost around Rs 53 lakh to Rs 60 lakh, ex-showroom. The outgoing model was priced from Rs 43.67 lakh, so the new SUV is likely to carry a noticeable price increase.
Larger size and new design
The new Q3 is bigger than the previous model. Here are its main dimensions:
| Dimension | New Audi Q3 |
|---|---|
| Length | 4,531 mm |
| Width | 1,859 mm |
| Height | 1,623 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,681 mm |
| Boot space | 488 litres |
The front gets a wide grille with a new 2D Audi logo. The split LED headlamps sit higher on the nose and give the SUV a different look. Other design details include:
- Digital Matrix LED headlights
- Split LED tail-lamps
- Full-width rear light bar
- Illuminated Audi logo
- 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
- Roof rails
- Panoramic sunroof
- Silver elements on the bumpers
The India-spec version will not get the S-Line styling package offered in some international markets.

More technology inside
The cabin has also received a major update. The dashboard has a new layout and gets two large screens. There is an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen runs on Android Automotive OS and is angled towards the driver. The feature list is expected to include:
- Sonos sound system
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Wireless phone charging
- Dual-zone climate control
- 360-degree camera
- Powered tailgate
- Paddle shifters
- Configurable ambient lighting
Audi has also moved the gear selector behind the steering wheel. This frees up space around the centre console, where buyers get the wireless charging pad, cupholders and other controls.

Petrol engine with Quattro
The Indian Q3 will use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. It is expected to produce around 204hp and 320Nm. Some reports list the output at 200bhp. Power will go through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system will also be offered as standard. The claimed performance figures include:
- 0-100kph: 7.1 seconds
- Top speed: 229kph
- Transmission: 7-speed DCT
- Drive system: Quattro AWD
Audi Q3 rivals in India
The new Q3 will face strong competition from other compact luxury SUVs. Its main rivals will include the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. The Volvo XC40 is another model buyers may consider in this space.
Audi has not announced the final price or variant details yet. More information should be available closer to the October launch.
