Renault has revealed the facelifted Kwid for Brazil with updates to both its exterior and cabin. The hatchback is offered in three variants: Evolution, Techno and Outsider. While the changes are not too extensive on the outside, the interior gets a major redesign with two digital screens. The Brazilian version also gets some equipment that is different from the India-spec Kwid.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Interior and Features
The biggest change is the dashboard, which now has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard still uses hard plastic, but its new layout gives the cabin a cleaner appearance.
Other features include manual air conditioning, two Type-C USB ports, power-operated front windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The safety kit includes four airbags as standard, hill-start assist, a reverse camera with parking sensors and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.

The India-spec Kwid also gets several of these features, although its top-spec Climber variant is equipped with six airbags. The Indian model uses a semi-digital driver display and an 8-inch infotainment screen.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Exterior Changes
Renault has given the Brazilian Kwid a revised front-end design. It gets a grille with vertical slats that resembles the Kiger, along with a new 3D Renault logo. LED daytime running light bars sit above the halogen headlamps.
The front bumper has also been redesigned and uses more black elements, giving the hatchback a slightly sportier look. The side profile now features 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. This is a notable difference from the Indian version, which gets 14-inch steel wheels with plastic covers.
At the rear, Renault has revised the LED tail-light elements. The tailgate and bumper, however, continue with their existing design. The Brazil-spec Kwid has a 2,423mm wheelbase, which is the same as the Indian model. It offers 185mm of ground clearance as well.
The Brazilian hatchback, however, has a 290-litre boot. This is 11 litres more than the boot space offered by the India-spec Kwid.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Engine and Gearbox
The Brazilian Kwid continues with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. With ethanol, the engine produces 71bhp and 98Nm, while the petrol version develops 67bhp and 92Nm. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox in Brazil. In India, the same engine is available with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT.
Renault is unlikely to introduce these facelift changes on the India-spec Kwid. The Indian model was updated recently with 3D badges, new wheel covers and a Kiger-inspired steering wheel.
The India-spec Kwid is currently available in Evolution and Climber variants, with prices starting at Rs 4.53 lakh ex-showroom and going up to Rs 5.61 lakh ex-showroom.
