Its record 20,350 units were sold in May 2026, which shows an impressive annual growth of 26.1% as compared to 16,140 units in May 2025. Ertiga remains the first choice of middle class Indian families due to its excellent mileage, affordable price, low maintenance cost and comfortable seating arrangement.
Toyota Innova
Toyota Innova (Hycross + Crysta) remains firmly at the second position in the list. In May 2026, the company sold a total of 10,325 units, whereas in the same month last year this figure was 8,882 units. In this way Innova has registered an annual growth of 16.2%. Due to its unmatched strength, premium cabin, hybrid technology and excellent comfort in long distance journeys, it is the favorite car of VIPs and big families.
Kia Carens + Clavis
The combined figures of Kia Carens and Clavis have captured the third position. It sold 6,208 units in May 2026, which is a huge increase of 37.2% compared to 4,524 units in May 2025. These Kia vehicles are being liked a lot among young buyers due to their modern features, stylish design, strong security equipment and premium look.
Maruti Suzuki XL6
Maruti Suzuki XL6 is at fourth position in this list. It sold 3,770 units in May 2026, which is 7.5% more than 3,507 units sold in May 2025. Known as the premium version of Ertiga, XL6 has been successful in attracting a special section of the market due to its captain seats, sporty look and excellent cabin experience of Nexa.
Toyota Rumion
Toyota Rumion has managed to make its place at fifth position. A total of 2,119 units have been sold in May 2026, which represents an annual growth of 10.5% compared to 1,917 units in May 2025. This rebadged MPV of Toyota based on Maruti Ertiga is attracting those customers who want to take advantage of Toyota's brand value, reliability and warranty package at a lower price.
Renault Triber
Renault Triber is one of the most affordable and compact 7-seater cars in India, ranking at sixth position. Its 1,890 units were sold in May 2026, while 1,411 units were sold in May 2025. Triber has registered a strong YoY growth of 33.9%. Due to its excellent space management, modular seating option and attractive looks in a limited budget, this car is proving to be a great option for small and medium families.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto
Maruti Invicto is at seventh position, which is Maruti's most expensive and flagship car based on Toyota Innova Highcross. It has sold 301 units in May 2026, which shows a good annual growth of 35.0% compared to 223 units in May 2025. Invicto is making its mark among premium customers due to its excellent hybrid engine, luxurious interior and advanced driving features.
Toyota Vellfire
Toyota Vellfire may be at eighth place in this list, but its annual growth rate is the most surprising. Its 164 units were sold in May 2026, whereas only 29 units were sold in May 2025. Vellfire has achieved an incredible year-to-date gain of 465.5%. It is an ultra-premium luxury MPV with ultra-luxurious, lounge-like amenities that is much loved by rich businessmen and celebrities.
