Mahindra got stuck by naming the car '6E', Indigo filed a lawsuit, companies issued statements

Mahindra got stuck by naming the car '6E', Indigo filed a lawsuit, companies issued statements

New Delhi. The dispute over the use of '6E' trademark has intensified between vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Indigo Airlines' owner InterGlobe Aviation. Mahindra has said that it is trying to find a solution to this issue through mutual dialogue.

On the other hand, IndiGo rejected Mahindra's claim and said that '6E' has been their designer code for the last 18 years. The airline says that any misuse of this code can harm its reputation and brand image.

Mahindra introduced new electric vehicles
Mahindra has recently launched two electric SUVs, BE 6E and XEV9E in the market. '6E' has been used in the name of one of these models, which has become a cause of controversy. IndiGo claims that '6E' is its trademark and has been in use for a long time.

Mahindra responded to this by saying that their BE 6E name is different from Indigo's trademark and does not create any confusion among consumers. Mahindra clarified that it has filed a trademark application for its electric SUV 'BE 6E', which is fundamentally different.

Indigo lodged objection
Reiterating that IndiGo protects its rights on this matter, it said that '6E' is not only a registered trademark but is also part of the airline's identity globally. The airline clarified that any unauthorized use of '6E' is a violation of intellectual property rights.

IndiGo said in the statement, “We are committed to taking every necessary step to protect our trademarks and brand identity. '6E' is an integral part of our identity, and using it without permission hurts our image and rights.”

Chances of legal battle increased
According to reports, Indigo has filed a trademark infringement suit against Mahindra. The airline has sought intervention from the intellectual property division of the court challenging Mahindra's BE 6E trademark.

Both Mahindra and Indigo have given public statements regarding this controversy. However, both the companies are also emphasizing on the possibility of adopting the path of dialogue to reach a solution. Now it has to be seen whether this dispute is resolved by mutual consent or it will be resolved through legal battle.

Who made the batteries of Mahindra's electric cars, promises a range of 682 kilometers with lifetime warranty!

Who made the batteries of Mahindra's electric cars, promises a range of 682 kilometers with lifetime warranty!

New Delhi. Indian passenger vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has recently launched two electric SUVs which are making headlines due to their features. Mahindra has launched two new electric SUVs built on the INGLO platform, BE6 E and

However, to achieve this range, the company has not used an ordinary battery in these two cars, but a new battery developed in-house. Let us know which technology Mahindra has used in its electric car.

New battery prepared in-house
Developing battery technology is the most difficult task for any car manufacturer. Since, range matters a lot in an electric car and the customer's decision to buy an electric car largely depends on the range. The company has taken the help of Chinese car manufacturer BYD to develop battery technology. Mahindra is using LFP batteries sourced from BYD in both its new electric cars, which are equipped with blade battery technology and are being used in many electric cars around the world including China for their qualities.

However, the work of packing and assembling of these batteries is being done by Mahindra at its Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, which is the company's state of the art facility.

LFP battery is equipped with many features
BYD's LFP battery is quite different from ordinary lithium ion batteries. In this battery, Lithium iron phosphate has been used instead of Lithium-Nickel, which has more capacity to store energy. Apart from this, this battery gets less hot even with continuous use and provides better protection from water.

The company has designed the battery chamber in the car in such a way that it can withstand temperatures ranging from -30 degrees to 80 degrees. This feature gives the company an edge in battery technology over other companies like Tata Motors and Hyundai.

Currently, Mahindra is sourcing LFP battery cells from China, but once the battery agreement with Volkswagen comes into force in 2026, the company will stop purchasing them from China.

Life time warranty on battery!
Mahindra has announced a life-time warranty on the batteries of its BE6 E and XEV.9e electric cars. This means that if the battery gets damaged, customers will not have to worry about the cost of replacing it. The company is giving a standard warranty of 10 years / 2,00,000 kilometers on the batteries of both the cars. If you sell the car before 10 years, the warranty will be transferred to the new owner.

Mahindra BE6 E and XEV.9e Price
Both Mahindra BE6 E and XEV.9e are advanced cars of the company. The base model of BE6 E is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price of the base model of XEV 9e has been fixed at Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Range of more than 680 km
Both electric cars have a 59 kWh battery in the base model and 79 kWh battery in the top model. Both generate 231 PS power and 380 Nm torque in their base models. Whereas, their top models have a claimed range of 682 km and 656 km respectively. These electric cars have single motor and rear wheel drive (RWD) system.

Transfer no-claim-bonus of old car to new one, save 50% in insurance, know the complete process

Transfer no-claim-bonus of old car to new one, save 50% in insurance, know the complete process

Vehicle NCB Transfer: If you are thinking of buying a new vehicle and want to avail the benefit of Insurance No Claim Bonus (NCB) of your old vehicle, then this news is for you. Insurance policyholders get no claim bonus if they have not filed any claim during the entire year. This benefit is offered on Own Damage (OD) premium and can result in huge savings on a new policy.

NCB percentage increases every year
NCB is zero in the first year of taking the policy, but it increases every year if you do not file any claims. If you do not file a claim in the first year, you get NCB up to 20 percent. In the second year it increases to 25 percent, in the third year to 35 percent, in the fourth year to 45 percent and in the fifth year it reaches a maximum of 50 percent. This means that without any claim for five years, you can get a discount of up to half the price on your own damage premium.

How to transfer no claim bonus?
The biggest advantage of NCB is that it is not linked to the vehicle but to the policyholder. This means that if you are selling your old car and buying a new car, you can transfer your NCB. However, this applies only to vehicles of the same category. That means, if you are buying a new car by selling your old car, then NCB can be transferred. But it will not transfer between bike to car or car to bike.

NCB will not be transferred if the ownership of the vehicle changes
It is also important to keep in mind that NCB is transferred only when the owner of the vehicle is the same person. If the owner of the vehicle changes, NCB cannot be transferred. Therefore, whenever you sell your old car and buy a new car, keep NCB transfer in mind.

How to complete the process?
To transfer NCB, you will have to cancel the insurance policy of your old vehicle and obtain the NCB certificate from the insurance company. This certificate has to be presented while taking the insurance policy of a new vehicle. This is an easy process, but it requires some caution.

Big announcement for Delhiites! Subsidy on electric vehicles increased till March 2025, exemption in road tax will also be available

Big announcement for Delhiites! Subsidy on electric vehicles increased till March 2025, exemption in road tax will also be available

New Delhi. Delhi government has decided to extend its electric vehicle (EV) policy till 31 March 2025. Under this decision, electric vehicles purchased from January 1, 2024 will get the benefit of subsidy and exemption in road tax. This initiative is an important step towards controlling air pollution in the capital and promoting clean transportation modes.

The EV policy, launched in August 2020, was originally implemented for three years. Its aim was to increase the share of electric vehicles in Delhi to 25 percent by 2024. Although the new policy has not been finalized yet, work on Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 is going on, from which further progress is expected in this area in future.

Under the extended policy, subsidies are being given for various types of electric vehicles. On purchasing e-cycle, a subsidy of 25 percent, the maximum limit of which has been fixed at ₹ 5,500, will be given. Subsidy of up to ₹30,000 will be available on commercial vehicles like e-rickshaws and e-carts. Additionally, electric two-wheelers will receive incentives at the rate of ₹5,000 per kWh, ranging up to ₹30,000, depending on battery capacity. E-light commercial vehicles are also being given a discount of up to ₹ 30,000.

In case of electric cars, subsidy was initially given at the rate of ₹10,000 per kWh according to battery capacity for the first 1,000 units, with a maximum limit of ₹1.5 lakh. This benefit ended in August 2021 itself. Now the Delhi government is expected to announce new guidelines in this segment.

Last year, a total of 6,57,312 vehicles were registered in Delhi, out of which 73,610 vehicles were electric. This figure indicates that the demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in the capital. The government believes that the expansion of this policy will further accelerate the sales of electric vehicles and people will be motivated to adopt clean transportation options.

This step will not only help in reducing pollution levels in Delhi, but will also give rise to new possibilities in the electric vehicle market. The government hopes that this policy will play an important role in making the capital pollution free and maintaining environmental balance.

Life's First Car: Buying the first car is a memorable experience for everyone. But this decision should not be based only on budget and design. While buying your first car, it is important to keep many aspects in mind, so that it proves to be a right and profitable investment for you. Let us know what things should be kept in mind while choosing the first car.

decide the budget first
First of all, you should assess your budget properly. Decide whether you want to buy a new car or whether it would be better for you to get a second-hand car. A new car may cost a little more, but it provides better service in the long run. At the same time, a second-hand car is available at a lower price and can be a good option for beginners in driving. If you are buying a new car, also look into financing options to make your purchase easier.

How much will the car run?
Next, it's important to think about how you'll be using your car. If you mostly drive a car in the city, then hatchback cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 or Tata Tiago can be a good option. At the same time, if you travel long distances on the highway, then sedan or SUV models like Honda City or Tata Nexon would be a better option. If you have a large family, MPVs or 7-seater cars may be suitable for you.

Mileage and maintenance are also factors
Mileage and maintenance is also an important aspect for your first car. Petrol cars are suitable for less driving, whereas diesel or CNG models can prove to be good for more driving. Additionally, electric cars like Tata Nexon EV or MG Comet EV can also be a future-oriented option, as they are environment-friendly and can prove to be economical in the long run.

Take care of safety features also
It is very important to have safety features in your first car. It must include features like dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), rear parking sensors and electronic stability control (ESC). These features will not only ensure your safety but will also increase confidence while driving.
Apart from this, it is also important to keep in mind the resale value of the car. Think about what a good price you can get for your first car if you sell it in the future. Cars from companies like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai generally give better resale value.

Performance and comfort are also important
Don't forget to take a test drive before buying a car. This will help you understand the performance, comfort and driving experience of the car. During the test drive, feel whether the steering, brakes and seating comfort of the car are suitable for your needs or not.

Ultimately, your first car should be one that fits your budget, needs and lifestyle. Do thorough research before buying, compare various options and take a wise decision based on your driving patterns. Choosing the right car will not only make your driving easier but will also give you a satisfying experience in the long run.

Chinese companies are selling cars in India at a rapid pace, but why couldn't Elon Musk sell even a single Tesla car?

Chinese companies are selling cars in India at a rapid pace, but why couldn't Elon Musk sell even a single Tesla car?

New Delhi. India is an emerging market for vehicles. Attracted by the growth of the country's automobile sector, many big companies of the country and the world are expressing their desire to sell their vehicles in India. If we talk about recent times, a big automobile company like Tesla also wants to sell its electric vehicles in India. Tesla tried hard to get permission from the Indian government to sell its electric vehicles in the country, but the company was ultimately disappointed.

On the other hand, despite differences with China, Chinese companies are selling their vehicles in India indiscriminately and are also launching new models year after year. But why are there so many restrictions in India for Tesla, which has proven its electric cars in the world, and what is the reason for this? Today we are going to tell you about this.

Chinese companies got entry in India
Two main Chinese companies BYD and MG Motor are selling their vehicles in India. BYD sells only electric vehicles, whereas MG also sells electric vehicles with internal combustion engine (ICE). Some models of both the companies are being liked very much by the customers in India. MG has become a very popular brand due to its SUVs equipped with internet and personal AI assistant technology, while BYD's electric cars coming with blade battery technology have managed to create their own identity due to their excellent single charge range, features and performance. Are.

MG entered the Indian market in the year 2018, while BYD is present in the domestic market since 2007. Both these companies manufacture and assemble their cars in India only. Due to its excellent technology and affordable electric vehicles, BYD has become a challenge for Tesla in many markets.

Why is Tesla's entry in India difficult?
The biggest problem for Tesla in India is the government's new electric vehicle policy (New EV Policy), which has been prepared keeping in mind the national interest as well as investment and employment generation in the domestic market. Let us tell you that under the new EV policy, a company wishing to sell electric vehicles in India will have to invest at least 500 million US dollars, i.e. approximately Rs 4150 crore in the domestic market. The company has been given 3 years time to set up a plant in India and start sales.

At the same time, the company will have to comply with 50% DVA i.e. Domestic Value Addition within 5 years. Under this rule, from the 5th year onwards the company will have to purchase 50% of the equipment used in its vehicles from the domestic market. At the same time, if the company imports knocked down components (CKD), then it will have to pay import duty of 15 percent. Chinese companies follow the same rules in India.

However, Tesla's planning for selling vehicles in India is something else. Tesla had said in the first round of talks with the Indian government that instead of setting up a plant in the country, it wants to sell vehicles made in China by importing them. For this reason, the government did not give permission to Tesla to sell vehicles in India.

Only 8,000 cars will be imported
Under the new rules, now the company can import only 8000 units of electric cars in the country in a year, the total number of which cannot exceed 40,000 units. Apart from this, for exemption in custom duty, the company will make a bank its guarantor. In case of non-compliance of DVA or minimum investment norms, bank guarantee will be invoked.

The Government of India has also clearly said that companies wishing to invest in India will have to follow this policy. The government will not change its policies as per the demand of any EV company.
