Mahindra Bolero becomes expensive! Price of Neo and Neo Plus increased by up to ₹26,500

Mahindra has increased the prices of its popular Bolero range (Bolero Classic, Bolero Neo and Bolero Neo Plus). This increase has been made due to increase in input costs, which includes a maximum increase of up to ₹ 26,500. If we look at the updated ex-showroom price, the B4 variant of Bolero Classic will now be available for ₹7.99 lakh and its price has increased by only ₹500.

After this, B6 has increased by ₹ 25,500, B6 (O) by ₹ 26,500 and the top B8 variant has now become ₹ 9.90 lakh (an increase of ₹ 21,500). There has been a maximum increase of up to ₹ 15,500 on N4 of Bolero Neo. Other variants (N8, N10) have also become costlier by ₹ 5,000. Apart from this, there has been an increase of ₹ 9,500 on Bolero Neo Plus P4 and ₹ 4,500 on P10. The new range is around ₹10.99 lakh to ₹11.99 lakh. Design and interior

The design of the Mahindra Bolero range is classic and rugged, best suited with body-on-frame (ladder frame) construction. Bolero Classic has a boxy shape, strong grille and high ground clearance, which is perfect for bad roads and off-road performance. The Bolero Neo comes with a slightly modern look, while the Neo Plus offers a longer wheelbase and more space. The robust build quality of all three models makes them suitable for Indian conditions.

With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles (EV), the biggest question is how much will it cost if the battery gets damaged? Will the bill really be as much as a new car? Many potential buyers step back due to this fear, but after understanding the actual figures and the policies of the brands, the picture becomes quite clear. The batteries of most electric cars in India come with a warranty of 8 years or 1.6 lakh kilometers (whichever is earlier).

During this period, if the battery capacity goes below 70%, then most companies have a provision for free replacement or repair. Tata Motors is offering 15 years lifetime battery warranty (unlimited kilometres, for the first owner) on some premium models (like Nexon EV 45 kWh, Curvv EV, Harrier EV). Mahindra and other brands also offer a standard warranty of 8 years/1.6 lakh km. The warranty of companies like MG, Hyundai and BYD is also around this.

If no warranty, how much will it cost?

Cost of replacement outside warranty depends on model and battery size. The cost of 25-30 kWh battery in small cars (Tata Tiago EV, Punch EV, MG Comet) can range from ₹ 3 lakh to ₹ 5 lakh. Estimates for mid-size SUVs like Tata Nexon EV (30-45 kWh) range from ₹3.5 lakh to ₹6-7 lakh. Larger or premium models (MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 etc.) can go from ₹5 lakh to ₹9-12 lakh. The cost per kWh is currently around ₹15,000-20,000. However, battery prices are falling rapidly globally.

When does the battery go bad?

The reality is that the battery does not get completely damaged suddenly. Modern lithium-ion batteries can easily last for 8-12 years or 1.5-2 lakh km with proper usage (maintaining 30-80% charge, protection from direct sunlight, regular servicing). Real-world degradation ranges from 10-20%. In many cases, instead of replacing the entire battery, repairing a few cells is enough, which can cost ₹ 50,000-1.5 lakh.

Companies like Tata, Mahindra are making battery packs modular, which will make repairs easier and cheaper in future. Taking a battery protection add-on in insurance can provide additional protection. Recently, its testing mule has been spotted on Indian roads with highly camouflage, the biggest reveal of which is the underbody CNG tank. Honda City Hybrid suffered a slight decline in FY26. 1,007 units were sold in FY26 compared to 1,280 units in FY25. A negative growth of 21.3% was recorded with a decrease of 273 units.

Suzuki Motor Corporation and mobility technology company AVL have introduced the Suzuki Swift as a technology demonstrator with a hydrogen engine at the 2026 Vienna Motor Symposium. Traditional hydrogen vehicles run on fuel cell technology, where hydrogen is converted into electricity to run the motor. But in this new prototype, power is being generated by burning hydrogen directly in the engine. AVL's new Hydrogen DI Technology has been used in the Suzuki-based 1.4 liter 4-cylinder Hydrogen DI engine.

Engine and Performance

This engine can run in both lean and stoichiometric (Lambda=1) modes. Better performance is achieved in stoichiometric mode through cooled EGR. This powertrain is capable of producing approximately 100 kW (approximately 135 hp) power and 220 Nm torque. This technology solves common problems of hydrogen engines such as unstable combustion and provides high power density, stable operation and scalable solutions. Drivability and emissions have been fully calibrated, making it production ready.

This car is completely manufactured in Britain and imported into India. Now this car can be brought at a cheaper price.

The Indian unit of luxury vehicle manufacturing company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said that in view of the possibility of implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), it has announced a reduction of up to Rs 75 lakh in the prices of Range Rover models manufactured in Britain. JLR India said the main beneficiaries of the price cut for vehicles coming to India as fully built units will be the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models.

Now what will be the price of both the cars?
After this deduction, the starting showroom price of Range Rover SV model has reduced from Rs 4.25 crore to Rs 3.5 crore. Apart from this, the price of Range Rover Sport SV model has been reduced from Rs 2.75 crore to Rs 2.35 crore. The Tata Group-controlled company said that the revised prices reflect the new duty structure under the FTA and will be applicable with immediate effect.

Company expects sales to increase
JLR India Managing Director Rajan Amba said that amidst the expectation of implementation of India-UK FTA, we are committed to providing its benefits to our customers. The new prices reflect our approach of putting the customer first and commitment to building long-term relationships. However, the company clarified that this FTA will have no impact on the prices of locally manufactured models in India such as Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar and Discovery Sport.

The prices of these models will not decrease
The company has said that some of its models are not made in Britain. Therefore, the rules of India-UK Free Trade Agreement will not be applicable on them and their prices will remain at the old level in the Indian market. The company said that the prices of its models like Defender and Discovery will remain at their old level. Both these models are produced in Slovakia, due to which they will remain out of the scope of FTA.

Nissan has launched a twin-cylinder CNG retrofitment kit for its new 7-seater car Gravite. Developed by Motozen, this ICAT approved and BS6 Phase 2 compliant kit comes with two cylinders of 25 liters each (total 50 liters water equivalent), which completely retains the third row seating.

The introductory price is only ₹ 82,999, which will be fitted at authorized dealerships. It is available in 60 cities and 16 states. The kit comes with a third-party warranty of 3 years/1 lakh km. It is safe and efficient with a heavy-duty 8.1mm wall cylinder and dynamic advancer technology. After this kit, the claimed mileage is expected to be up to 22-24 KMKG. Let's take a look at the details from design to engine and performance.

Design and interior

The piano black 2D grille at its front is attractive with aero accents. Signature LED headlamps, wrist edge LED tail lamps and dual-tone R15 flex wheels give it road presence. The 182 mm ground clearance is suitable for Indian roads. The overall design is family-oriented. Bold but practical, with modular seating and good boot space (with/without third row). The twin tanks of the CNG kit are vertically stacked, which minimally impacts the boot space and third row.
