Design and interior

The design of Tata Tiago EV has an updated hatchback look. It is a car with a long (3825 mm), wide (1684 mm) and conventional 5-door body. It gives better road presence for family use. The MG Comet EV is very compact (2974 mm long), comes with a two-door design, high stance and unique city-friendly looks. The Comet is easier to park and maneuver in tight spaces, while the Tiago feels more stable and spacious.

Tiago EV gets 5 seater space, better rear leg room and 240 liters of boot space. The interior is modern. Floating digital cluster, touchscreen and good material quality. MG Comet EV gets 230 km ARAI range with 17.3 kWh battery (42 hp, 110 Nm). The Tiago is more powerful and has a longer range, while the Comet is adequate for the city. Both support AC charging, Tiago has better DC fast charging.

Who is better: If you want family use, more range and practicality, then Tata Tiago EV is better. Choose MG Comet EV for pure city commuting, easy driving and unique looks. BaaS makes both cheaper, but calculate according to usage in the long run. Overall, Tiago EV seems to be more value for money.

Difference between Nitrogen and Regular Air

Regular Air (Compressed Air): It contains about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and the remaining gases like moisture, carbon dioxide etc. It is easily available at petrol pumps for free or at very low cost.

Nitrogen: 93-99% pure nitrogen. There is almost no oxygen and moisture in it. It is filled with a special machine.

Nitrogen loss

Expensive: ₹400-800 per tire for the first time. Top-up can also be charged later.
Less Available: Not available at every petrol pump.
Mixing problem: If normal air is filled in between then the entire benefit of nitrogen is reduced.

Benefits of Regular Air:

Affordable and easy: Available anywhere for free or for ₹10-20.
Quite effective: 78% is nitrogen only. There is no big problem with regular checks.
Easy maintenance: Can top up anywhere.

Disadvantages of Regular Air:

High leakage: Small molecules (especially oxygen) leak easily.
Problem due to moisture: Pressure increases in summer, risk of rust.

What's right for you?

Choose Nitrogen if: you do a lot of highway driving, like high speeds, live in a hot area (like Rajasthan, Gujarat), or want long-life tires. Good for premium car owners or fleet owners.

Regular Air is sufficient if: Daily commuting, office-market, average driving in city. Just check the pressure every 15-30 days.

Bonus Tip: No matter how much air is filled, maintain the correct PSI (written in the car manual or on the door). If the tire pressure is not correct, the tire may burst or the engine may be overloaded.

Hyundai Motor is preparing the fourth generation of its popular premium hatchback i20, which is going to be launched later this year. Maruti Fronx: In the sales report of May 2026, Maruti Fronx has secured the first position with excellent sales of 20,686 units. Last year i.e. in May 2025, about 13,609 units were sold. In this way, Franks has registered an excellent growth of 52% on annual basis. On the basis of its coupe design and great features, this car has emerged as the first choice of the customers.

The ex-showroom price of Maruti Franks ranges from ₹ 6.85 lakh to ₹ 11.98 lakh. It is available in 1.2 liter petrol (88 PS) and 1.0 liter turbo (100 PS) engines, in which the mileage is available from 21 to 22.89 kmpl (petrol) and 28.51 km/kg (CNG). Mahindra Thar: Mahindra Thar's off-road popularity continues to remain intact in the Indian market. In May 2026, Thar achieved ninth position with sales of 10,787 units. Last year in May 2025, 10,372 units were sold. Thus, Thar has registered a positive growth of 4% on annual basis. How does a flex fuel engine work?

Many hardware changes are made in flex fuel engines compared to normal petrol engines, because ethanol is more corrosive and has lower energy density. Some such changes take place in the engine-

Anti-Corrosion Fuel System: The fuel tank, fuel line and other related parts are made from special anti-corrosive materials to avoid any harm due to the corrosive nature of ethanol.
Large Fuel Injectors and Pumps: The amount of energy in ethanol is less than petrol, so the engine requires more fuel to give the same performance. For this reason, large capacity injectors and fuel pumps have been installed.
Ethanol Sensor: A sensor installed inside the fuel tank detects the percentage of ethanol (ranging from 10% to 85%) and immediately sends this information to the ECU.
Engine Control Unit (ECU): It automatically adjusts the air-fuel ratio, spark timing and fuel injection quantity as per the fuel mixture based on the information received from the sensors.
Heated Fuel Lines: To burn ethanol easily in cold weather, special arrangements have been made to heat the fuel lines, so that starting and performance is not affected.
Strong Engine Components: The internal parts of the engine like valve seats, piston rings and other important parts are made from special hardened material, so that there is no early wear or damage due to ethanol.

Why is ethanol so important?

Ethanol is going to be a necessity of the future in many ways. India is a big importer of crude oil. Ethanol blending will save foreign exchange. Farmers will benefit. Ethanol is made from sugarcane, maize etc., which will increase agricultural income. Pollution will also reduce, because tailpipe emissions from ethanol will reduce by 70-75%. Maruti Suzuki Dezire remained India's best selling car even in May 2026. It strengthened its hold with sales of 24,546 units. Low price, excellent mileage, comfortable interior and easy maintenance are its main attractions. Both family users and fleet operators are crazy about it. Maruti Suzuki Dezire prices start from ₹6.26 lakh and go up to ₹9.31 lakh (ex-showroom). Its new design is modern with attractive sedan look with premium grille and LED lights. Features like 9-inch touchscreen, wireless connectivity, sunroof, 360° camera and auto AC have been provided in the interior. For safety, 6 airbags are standard and it has got a 5-star GNCAP rating.

Its 1.2 liter Z-series petrol engine produces 80 PS power, with 5-speed manual and AMT options available. There is also a CNG variant. Mileage is 24.79 kmpl in petrol MT, 25.71 kmpl in AMT and 33.73 km/kg in CNG. This is an economical, safe and mileage-friendly sedan.

Tata Punch maintained its dominance in the micro segment. Strong build quality, 5-star safety rating and attractive design made it a favorite of the youth. Good performance both in the city and on the highway is the key to its success. A total of 20,208 units were sold last month.

5. Tata Nexon

On the basis of explosive growth in sales, Nexon has registered its name in the list of top-5 cars of last month. A total of 19,100 units were sold last month. This figure shows an annual increase of 46 percent in its sales.

Apart from the top-5 cars of last month mentioned above, in May 2026, there will be 18,396 units of Baleno, 18,076 units of WagonR, 17,519 units of Swift, 15,774 units of Scorpio, 15,253 units of Creta, 13,245 units of Brezza, 13,240 units of Eeco, 11,714 units of Venue, Victoris 10,853 units and 10,787 units of Thar have been sold.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the country's first flex-fuel passenger car, Wagon R Flex Fuel, which can run on ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E100. Maruti Suzuki has introduced India's first flex-fuel running passenger car, Maruti Wagon R Flex Fuel. It has been unveiled in the presence of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. These steps are important to reduce India's dependence on fuel imports, increase farmers' income and reduce pollution. Flex-fuel vehicles can run on any blend of petrol and ethanol (from E20 to E85/E100), significantly reducing tailpipe emissions.

The flex-fuel version of the Maruti Wagon R is based on the existing model, in which the engine has been made ethanol friendly. Design and interior

The flex-fuel version of the Wagon R retains the tall-boy design of the current model. It is 3655 mm long, 1620 mm wide and 1675 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2435 mm. It has large glass area, high roofline and easy entry-exit. Some mild changes have been seen on the side with flex-fuel badging. It is perfect for city driving and family use, in which practicality comes first.

The interior is spacious and airy. Due to the tall-boy design, there is ample headroom and legroom. There are dual-tone badges and dark gray interiors, good storage space and comfortable seating for 5 people. Higher variants come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and steering mounted controls.

Features and safety

The car has features like manual AC, power windows, keyless entry, push-button start and digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system and connectivity features provide a modern experience. Idle Start-Stop system helps in increasing fuel efficiency. Safety includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist and Electronic Stability Control. It conforms to BS6 Phase-II norms.

Engine Details

The flex-fuel Wagon R gets a modified version of the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine (about 89-90 PS power and 113 Nm torque), which can run on E20 to E85/E100 ethanol blends. This engine automatically adjusts according to the mixture of petrol and ethanol. Will be available with 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. In flex-fuel mode, emissions are significantly lower at high ethanol blends, which is better for the environment. Mileage in petrol mode is expected to remain the same as the current Wagon R (about 23-25 kmpl).
