Nissan Tekton vs Tata Sierra: Tekton has recently entered the Indian SUV market. Its direct competition in the segment is with Tata Sierra. Both the vehicles are attractive options for families with stylish design, modern features and strong performance.

The ex-showroom price of Nissan Tekton starts at ₹10.49 lakh and goes up to ₹18.59 lakh, while the price of Tata Sierra starts at ₹11.49 lakh and the top variant goes up to ₹21.29 lakh. Design and interior

The aggressive look of Tekton is inspired by Nissan Patrol. It has been introduced with bold LED light bar, muscular silhouette and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Sierra has a Red Dot Award winning design, which looks more premium and has road presence, it looks slightly larger with a wider body (1841 mm) and height (1715 mm). Both have a panoramic sunroof, but the Sierra's cabin feels more spacious.

On the interior, the Tekton offers a modern tri-tone layout, 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, ventilated powered front seats, dual-zone AC and Google built-in. The Sierra leads with triple screens (12.3-inch main), JBL 12-speaker sound system, HUD and rear passenger comfort features like Boss Mode. The boot space of Sierra is 622 liters and that of Tekton is 518 liters.

Features and safety

Among the features, both have wireless charging, 360° camera, powered tailgate and connected tech. The Sierra gets extras like a co-driver screen and a better speaker setup. In safety, both have 5-star BNCAP rating, they have been launched in the market with 6 airbags, ESC, TPMS and Level-2 ADAS (Adaptive Cruise, Lane Keep etc.). More advanced safety features are available in some variants of Sierra.

Engine and Performance

The Tekton has 1.0 liter turbo-petrol (98 bhp) or 1.3 liter turbo (160 bhp, mild-hybrid) options. It can be bought with a 6-speed MT/DCT and the mileage is around 18-19 kmpl. Sierra has 1.5 liter NA petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel and EV options. The torquey diesel (280 Nm) is better for the highway. Sierra offers more options with its diesel engine.
