Maruti Suzuki achieved 40.63% market share by selling 1,47,187 units in June 2026. Maruti is maintaining its hold through new models and expansion plans, although monthly fluctuations continue.

Tata Motors

The performance of Tata Motors was most impressive. It sold 62,076 units in June 2026, which is a huge growth of 67.40% year-on-year. There was also an increase of 5.05% on monthly basis. Strong presence in the EV segment and popular SUV models brought the company the second position. Tata is growing rapidly with 17.13% market share and is expected to perform even stronger in future.

Mahindra

Mahindra has sold 60,393 units in June 2026, registering a growth of 27.66% year-on-year. There has also been an increase of 4.09% on monthly basis. The company achieved 16.67% market share. Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai stood fourth by selling 39,635 units in June 2026, but registered a decline of 9.97% year-on-year. Monthly sales also decreased by 17.15%. The company is facing challenges with 10.94% market share. Hyundai is trying to improve its position by working on new models and pricing strategy.

Toyota Motor

Toyota sold 28,441 units in June 2026, which is 7.52% higher year-on-year. There was a decline of 6.98% on annual basis. The company achieved 7.85% market share. Toyota is showing stable growth with a strong hold in the hybrid and premium segments.

Kia India

Kia sold 24,552 units in June 2026, an increase of 19.04% year-on-year. There has been a decline of 11% on monthly basis. With 6.78% market share, Kia is performing well in the SUV segment. Models like Seltos and Sonet remain the strength of the company.

Now Kwid will be available in only two variants – Evolution and Climber, making it easier than ever for customers to choose the right model.

Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 4.53 lakh, while after the cash benefit of ₹ 15,000 on online purchase, the effective price of the fully-loaded Climber variant becomes ₹ 4.99 lakh. Design and interior

The new Renault Kwid has been updated with the company's new brand identity. It has SUV-inspired design, high ground clearance and strong road presence. Ground clearance of 184 mm makes it a strong option in its segment.

Indian Oil's XP95 and Hindustan Petroleum's Power Petrol come in this category. This is also based on E20 standard (20% ethanol), but its octane rating is 95. It contains special detergent additives which keep the engine valves clean. It gives excellent mileage and smooth performance for modern turbo-petrol cars and premium scooters. Its price in Delhi is currently ₹ 109.24/litre.

3. Super-Premium Petrol (0% Ethanol – 100 Octane)

Indian Oil's XP100 is the biggest example of this category. This is the only petrol in India, which is completely ethanol-free (0% Ethanol) and its octane rating is 100. This fuel is very expensive and is specially designed for supercars, racing bikes and vintage cars, so that their engines can get maximum power. Its price in Delhi is currently ₹ 170/litre.

4. E85 Petrol (Flex-Fuel)

At present it is being looked at from the perspective of future fuel. E85 petrol is introduced only for flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). It contains up to 85% ethanol and only 15% petrol. Toyota, Maruti and Hero MotoCorp have launched some models running on E85 in the market. It is very safe for the environment and much cheaper than regular petrol, but it can only be put in vehicles with flex-fuel engines. Its price in Delhi is currently ₹ 82.12/litre.

5. E100 (Pure Ethanol Fuel)

With the cooperation of the Union Transport Ministry, E100 i.e. 100% pure ethanol fuel has also got the green signal in India. It is a biofuel made entirely from sugarcane, corn and agricultural waste, which does not contain even a drop of petrol. It is currently being used in select pilot projects and specially designed flex-fuel bikes and cars. Its price has not been made public yet.

At the same time, Sierra EV has been offered with both RWD and QWD drivetrain options. The real-world range of both electric SUVs is approximately between 480 to 530 kilometers.

Skoda has launched its first RS badged SUV Kodiaq RS in India. This 7-seater family SUV will combine sporty performance and take Skoda's RS heritage of over 50 years to new heights. The India-spec model comes with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 265 hp power and 400 Nm torque. With 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and AWD system, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, making it the fastest Skoda car launched in India.

Available in limited numbers (about 50 units in the first batch), this SUV will attract performance enthusiasts with its premium feel. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹66.99 lakh, which makes it much more expensive than the regular Kodiaq (₹37-47 lakh) but unique in its class. With an aggressive design, luxurious interiors and advanced safety, the Kodiaq RS offers the perfect balance of practicality and a thrilling drive. Coming as a CBU import, this car will be ideal for those buyers who want a combination of luxury, space and performance.

Design and interior

The Kodiaq RS comes with RS-specific updates while retaining the robust body of the standard model. The glossy black grille, LED Matrix headlights with adaptive front lighting, large air intakes and RS badging make the front look aggressive. 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, black ORVMs, roof rails and RS spoiler at the rear, diffuser and polished exhaust tips give it a sportier look. Colors like Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Gray are available. Overall, it will dominate the road.

Its cabin is as practical as the standard Kodiaq but comes with RS touch.
