ईंधन की कीमतें बढ़ने से भारत में ईवी की मांग बढ़ी; मारुति, मर्सिडीज-बेंज को डिलीवरी में देरी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है

कंपनी में ईवी डिलीवरी की अवधि फिलहाल लगभग तीन महीने है।

इलेक्ट्रिक कारें इतनी तेजी से डीलरशिप से बाहर हो रही हैं कि निर्माता इसे बरकरार नहीं रख पा रहे हैं, जिससे लोकप्रिय मॉडलों के लिए प्रतीक्षा समय तीन महीने तक बढ़ गया है।

मारुति से लेकर मर्सिडीज-बेंज तक कंपनियां ईरान युद्ध के कारण ईंधन की कीमतों में वृद्धि से बढ़ी मांग को पूरा करने के लिए संघर्ष कर रही हैं, जो भारतीय ईवी उद्योग के लिए भाग्य में बदलाव का संकेत है, खरीदार पहले चार्जिंग नेटवर्क की पर्याप्तता और आंतरिक दहन इंजन (आईसीई) कारों की तुलना में अधिक कीमतों को लेकर चिंतित थे। लक्जरी कार निर्माता मर्सिडीज-बेंज और बीएमडब्ल्यू ने भारत के लिए प्रारंभिक नियोजित कोटा समाप्त होने के साथ मुख्यालय से ईवी आवंटन में वृद्धि की मांग की है।

“बीईवी की मांग (बैटरी इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनमर्सिडीज-बेंज इंडिया के प्रबंध निदेशक संतोष अय्यर ने कहा, ''मार्च के बाद से 40 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी हुई है।'' सीएलए बीईवी की मांग हमारी उम्मीदों से अधिक हो गई है। हम सीएलए की भविष्य की बुकिंग शुरू करने के लिए अगले आवंटन की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं, जिसकी प्रतीक्षा अवधि अब दो-तीन महीने है।” अय्यर अप्रैल में लॉन्च की गई सीएलए इलेक्ट्रिक सेडान का जिक्र कर रहे थे। डीलरों ने बैकलॉग के कारण मॉडल के लिए ऑर्डर लेना बंद कर दिया है। अध्यक्ष हरदीप सिंह बराड़ ने कहा, बीएमडब्ल्यू ग्रुप इंडिया पहली छमाही में उम्मीद से अधिक मजबूत मांग को पूरा करने के लिए मूल रूप से 2026 की दूसरी छमाही के लिए योजना बनाई गई ईवी इन्वेंट्री पर काम कर रहा है। “हमें और अधिक के लिए अपने मुख्यालय से अनुरोध करना होगा। पूरे वर्ष के लिए आवंटन,'' उन्होंने कहा। बीएमडब्ल्यू इंडिया की कुल बिक्री में इलेक्ट्रिक्स की हिस्सेदारी मई में लगभग 33 प्रतिशत हो गई, जो मार्च के अंत में 26 प्रतिशत और दिसंबर के अंत में 21 प्रतिशत थी। कंपनी में ईवी डिलीवरी अवधि वर्तमान में लगभग तीन महीने है।

ईवी सेगमेंट में धीमी शुरुआत का सामना करने वाली देश की सबसे बड़ी कार निर्माता मारुति सुजुकी की नई ई-विटारा एसयूवी की बुकिंग पिछले एक महीने में दोगुनी हो गई है। कंपनी के डीलरों के अनुसार, वाहन के लिए 6-8 सप्ताह का प्रतीक्षा समय है।

मारुति सुजुकी के वरिष्ठ कार्यकारी अधिकारी (विपणन और बिक्री) पार्थो बनर्जी ने कहा, “पश्चिम एशिया संघर्ष (ईवीएस में ग्राहकों के बदलाव के लिए) एक महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु हो सकता है।”

अन्य ब्रांड भी इसी तरह के परिदृश्य का अनुभव कर रहे हैं। डीलरों के अनुसार, महिंद्रा एंड महिंद्रा की प्रतीक्षा अवधि वेरिएंट के आधार पर XEV 9e इलेक्ट्रिक एसयूवी के लिए छह से आठ सप्ताह और BE 6 और XEV 9e मॉडल के लिए चार सप्ताह तक बढ़ गई है। टाटा मोटर्स की पंच और टियागो ईवी खरीदने के लिए ग्राहकों को लगभग छह सप्ताह तक इंतजार करना होगा।

जेएसडब्ल्यू एमजी मोटर में, विंडसर और जेडएस ईवी मॉडल-पहले शेल्फ पर उपलब्ध थे-वर्तमान में लगभग एक महीने की प्रतीक्षा अवधि है।

जेएसडब्ल्यू एमजी के एक डीलर ने कहा, ''प्राकृतिक रूप से ग्राहकों की संख्या बढ़ रही है और ईवी की मांग अब स्वाभाविक रूप से बढ़ रही है।'' उन्होंने कहा कि बाजार अब निर्माता-प्रेरित से मांग-खींच की ओर स्थानांतरित हो गया है।

टाटा मोटर्स पैसेंजर व्हीकल्स और टाटा पैसेंजर इलेक्ट्रिक मोबिलिटी के प्रबंध निदेशक शैलेश चंद्रा ने कहा कि कंपनी की ईवी बुकिंग वर्तमान में कुल कार मांग का 30-33 प्रतिशत है, जो वास्तविक डिलीवरी का दोगुना मात्र 15-16 प्रतिशत है।

चंद्रा ने कहा, “यह अंतर स्पष्ट रूप से इंगित करता है कि ईवी को अपनाना वर्तमान में मांग की तुलना में आपूर्ति बाधाओं – विशेष रूप से आपूर्तिकर्ता पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र – द्वारा अधिक सीमित है।”

Mahindra, as part of its Global Vision 2027, unveiled the Vision S concept on August 15, 2025, which is a sub-4 meter compact SUV based on the NU_IQ modular platform. The model is the successor to the Bolero Neo and is being touted as the 'Baby Scorpio', combining a boxy, rugged design with premium lifestyle appeal. This SUV, which was seen under camouflage during testing, can be launched in the Indian market in late 2026 or early/mid 2027. Probably it will be launched in the market during the festive season or around August 15, 2027.

Talking about the price, its ex-showroom price will start from ₹ 9 lakh and will go up to ₹ 16 lakh. The NU_IQ platform will support petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV powertrains, which will help in making it a multi-purpose vehicle. Mahindra's focus is on 5-star safety, advanced features and off-road capability, which will make it perfect for both city and highway. Let's take a look at its possible design to engine-performance details.

Design and interior

The design of Mahindra Vision S is boxy and muscular, which seems to be inspired by the Land Rover Defender. L-shaped LED DRLs, pixel LED headlights, ice-cube fog lamps, flush door handles, roof-mounted auxiliary lamps, thick black cladding and high ground clearance (up to 277mm) give it a rugged look. It sports an imposing stance with a sub-4 meter length (approx. 3990-4200 mm), 2665 mm wheelbase and 19-inch wheels. These elements are expected to remain intact in the production model.

Its cabin is modern and premium. The blue-black theme, silver accents, glossy black inserts, dual-tone upholstery and yellow dashboard straps give off-road vibes. Features like dual large touchscreens (one for infotainment and the other for digital cluster), triple-spoke steering wheel (with Vision S badging), vertical AC vents, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat and ambient lighting will take it up in the segment. The spacious cabin, flat floor and good boot space (up to 644 litres) are perfect for families.

Features and safety

There is a possibility of getting wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, multiple drive modes and premium audio system. These features can be even richer in the production version. For safety, there will be features like 6 airbags as standard, level-2 ADAS, TPMS, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ESC, hill hold/descent control and 360-camera. Mahindra is aiming for a 5-star global NCAP rating.

Engine and Mileage

Initially, 1.2L turbo petrol (from XUV 3XO) and 1.5L turbo diesel (115 bhp, 300 Nm) engines will be available, which will have manual, AMT and automatic transmission options. AWD is also possible. Hybrid and EV variants will come later. Mileage can be 16-18 kmpl in petrol and 20-22 kmpl in diesel.

Overall, Mahindra Vision S is bringing a great combination of style, technology, safety and performance. This will give new heights to the sub-4m SUV segment and strengthen Mahindra's market hold. After launch, it will attract both young buyers and family users.
